As Brian, has suggested, you can just convert songs to some mp3 format.
Alternatively (I haven't used those), - you may consider some of the
multiple apps (including free ones) available on Google Play.

Battery life is mediocre.
Stay away from the $79 tablets. They os v. 1.5 and cannot run many apps.

BTW if you want really tough and don't need the smart
there are Outlook sync apps in the Android market, some free, some
commercial. I think you'll be fine but as I don't have an Exchange
server I haven't used one so I can't say for sure.

Anyone using a G1? The wife and I are considering getting a couple of
these, but t-mobile hasn't upgraded our local network to 3G yet, so
we'd be stuck with EDGE connectivity at least for a while. Anyway,
looking for opinions on using one of these without 3G most of the
time.
