I went with some friends to a rather subdued Paris for the day on Monday to look at the Truffaut exhibition at the Cinematheque - highly recommended! I like the composition a lot but find ;the rendering a bit muddy, with blocked up shadow detail and dark midrange tones. For those who don't know, police departments often get their cars in batches from the manufacturers, then send them to a cop prep shop to fit them out to local department specs. This looks like someone told the cop prep shop just leave the decals off a few. Actually, there was a cartoon character that I clearly see in this snowflake, but I cannot recall what it's called or what cartoon it was in. It's black and very aggressive, and if I remember correctly, there were many of them... Anybody? There's a similar-ish looking flower I've seen somewhere down our street but it's red. It got me thinking that it's a shame the camera doesn't record the magnification ratio (it's an FA lens and I think they transmit focus distance to the body). It does say Subject Distance Range: Macro. Yes, he (or she) eventually ran away when someone got a little bit too close. It was nice to see some exotic wildlife that was actually wild after all the zoos and aquariums, although much of what we saw in captivity I wouldn't want to meet in the wild.
