And from what I have experienced, this point has been reached for me. 6

nothin that can beat it. Even bumping up to A3 in Photoshop, the prints
are spectacliar (sic). Hence, I climbed aboard the wagon. In one respect,

Funny..
reminds me of the same problem that a lot of people used to have when
purchasing computers a few years back.
I remember a PII 400 coming out and a buddy of mine ordered hers from Dell.
She hadn't even recieved the PC yet and already Dell had come out with the
next model up about a month

I have given your post some serious thought, and find I agree with you, I

What are your views? use the photo-i forum and let us know.
Like computers or any other fast moving technology, you just have to
pick a point that's good enough for your purposes and drive a stake
in the ground.
I think the big difference between computers and digital cameras is that
running newer software requires more memory and faster CPU's. With a digital
camera there is no new software problem.
I agree that most people don't need the absolute fastest machine available.
I'm planning on replacing my 4
I would like to see
a bit more support for higher bit depth as well as more cameras writing at
16 bits bit depth. Other then that, 5-6 MP for a PS replacement camera
would be fine IMHO.
You mean 16-bits per color (ie 48 bit TIFF-like) or some sort of
extended range jpg?
