I think it is the parameter -dvd-compat, it's a safe option for DVD5 but
breaks at 50% of the write for a DVD9
But i have not debugged k3b, I have done some tests burning with
growisofs from shell and with or without the -dvd-compat option.

k3b doesn't burn DVD DL because it use bad parameter for growisofs (who
work well from shell)
In the image error.png attached there is another common problem: k3b
doesn't recognize the speed allowed (retrieved by dvd+rw-mediainfo, I
suppose) and it set a a speed who is always higher than the
upgrade to the latest 2.0.5 version fix the problem

I found an answer to the problem
The same version of bluedevil on a Toshiba laptop works with the
internal bluetooth and fails in the same way with the USB dongle.
Bluettoth external USB device I used is

devices if I run hcitool scan while bluedevil is looking for new device.
