I'm sure Softsqueeze keeps it's settings in a preferences file somewhere
- if you can find that you can edit it (or just delete it to go back to

I am seeing the same half a second delay and I am on the latest
versions of SlimServer (6.2.1), Softsqueeze(2.3) and the Java Run Time
environment (1.5).
I would be very interested also if there are additional steps we could

It doesn't load in 6.2.1 for me, either. Is there a fix?

the easiest thing to do for getting these is to open up the Terminal

I believe (?) that you can start softsqueeze via the manual "java"
command (in a command prompt) and specify the skin that way. Not sure
if that helps you. Check out the sourceforge page for the specifics on
the CLI command.

I don't know OSX but I think "endian" shouldn't matter for PPC unless
there is a mismatch (e.g. perhaps downloaded x86 stuff instead of
PPC).
Users have been adding to the log of the instruction as recently as

Toobiloo,
It is not clear what is not working when run from the prepane. We're

As I said above, my use is - pause - do something - then manually

mplayer looks for codecs under lots of names and directories.
For AlienBBC under windows put the codec (cook3260.dll) in a manually
created sub directory called codecs from where mplayer is installed.
The codec can be found oin the mplayerhq site as part of the essential

Thanks - thats it exactly.
Just to tell you why I need this. AlienBBC doesn't know how to pause -
it restarts clips at the beginning. So you have to take note of the
position and then skip forward. I like to do this from my easy chair -
and its only possible in large font mode.

Ok, a bit more progress.
A command line run of mplayer results in the same problem, and it

the problem.

Use "-ac racook" in the mplayer command line and it will use the
