I'm not familiar with jails. Is there anything special about them wrt.
networking? Eg. would you need to configure ports being used etc.?

There is something with your network, probably, that messes up with
multicast traffic and as a consequence, the "keep-alive"

Nary a hop, skip or jump today using the plugin Mellow Flac. Metadata
has been fine. They are killing it with song choices today, I keep
stopping what I'm doing to see the song/artist.

Is there something I can check (networks ports status maybe?), logs?
Is LMS running on the FreeNAS system itself, or in docker or something?

(Question to Micheal - does the 4.flac correspond to icy-4?)
No. 1-4 were the different channels RP offered at some point. Today only
"0" (main) and "4" (Mellow) are left.
The icy-4 must be the fourth of x servers used for load-balancing.

Still on 2.2.8 here. Interesting.

How does it work exactly? Knowing the process could help me
investigate.
Are SBs broadcasting the service to the mobile devices hosting a spotify
client? Is LMS broadcasting the service via the
Mobile phones and tablets are on the same SSID, but not necessarily the
same band (2,4GHz or 5GHz) I don't know if it's important.
No firewall enabled on the LMS host (FreeNAS).

Direct streaming means the buffer is stored in the player.
Just wanted to give a heads up for an bug in 2.2.9. It can happen on
shutdown or sign off. If you ShutDown or SignOff and some other program
blocks shutdown/signoff, then SLX can shut itself down without
terminating the squeezelite process(es). Then, if you decide not to
shutdown/signoff and

Pretty sure the Touch has more RAM than an SB3 and therefore more buffer
space.
I nipped out for 5 mins but first switched to a local file before
pausing the SB3.
On return the plugin is still working properly but the

I've been unable able to get BBciplayerextras (3.1.0) to play anything
for a while - it didn't worry me too much as BBciplayer (1.6.7) still
worked ok but I've finally got round to investigating.

I wonder why
I think I have found something,
All of my tests above have been with an SB3.
After the full system reboot the FLAC URL metadata was restored but the
FLAC Plugin was still stuttering and unplayable.
I switched the Player to use Proxied Streaming and now the FLAC Plugin
is working. Hooray!!

I stopped LMS and the mellow stream played for a few minutes until I
paused the touch. How is that possible? The buffer isn't that big.
In direct streaming mode the player could continue to play the stream
while the server is off.

Trying the new FLAC stream again and the metadata is stuck on Willie
Nelson - Blue Skies which I think must have been playing the last time I
played the stream a couple of days ago.
Would it catch up if you left it running for a while?

Bill was responding to my post casually calling the geographic redirect
"load balancing" but I'm sure
I stopped LMS and the mellow stream played for a few minutes until I
paused the touch. How is that possible? The buffer isn't that big.

Additionally to the random connection losses, the player seems to always
lose connection as soon as the current playlist's last track is played.

to skip tracks he didn't like, not a problem with the stream.
No, I "complained" about the fact that I cannot use the new streams.
They simply wouldn't play reliably.

I have been using am IPod Touch to stream via an IPod dock connector,
worked for years. The Touch is old, don't think there has been an update
IOS for years. Suddenly stopped working with IPeng, I try and load the
