Following your advice to re-install SlimServer and the AlienBBC plugin
resolved the problem. I didn't uninstall. I simply stopped the
slimserver re-ran the install then while the slimserver was still
stopped, copied the AlienBBC plugin back into the directory structure.

Have you just updated to the latest 6.5 nightly or svn?
If so Alien is not currently compatable with this... But it will be

Yes - that should install AlienBBC 1.01 for 6.2. The 6.5 version
doesn't have a version no.

To get a better idea of why it is crashing - can you run slim.exe from a
command window.
1. CD to the slimserver\server directory
2. at the prompt enter slim --d_plugins --d_source.
Some useful error message may appear in the command window.
