I don know how you installed lame on your nas but be aware that you
might loose your lame when updating to 7.9.0. Synology
After my minor wobbly over the previous development release, the new

most previous dev releases) has proved to be very stable on my

Hi,
I've been using Smart Mix for a while now, and really like it. One thing
I noticed though, is that when I start a new playlist with a song, it
will pick another song by the same artist immediately to go next, or at
least soon after. Often from the same album even.
If possible I'd like to ask

Then I would recommend to install Synology's lms beta over 7.7.3. That
will probably install without a problem. The only thing is that the
package is a bit outdated. That's all. But compared to 7.7.3 a jump

Hi,
I'm currently using the standard Synology LMS package version 7.7.3 on
my DS1813+ (DSM 5.2). During my initial installation a couple of years
ago, I manually installed lame, so I already have support for
transcoding to mp3. Now I consider upgrading to 7.9.0. I've seen that
it's available as a

Below are the log entries which record the starting of the transcoding -
note ecasound has full directory path to executable. So the issue is why
the wavin->flc failed before this entry. The log messages say entry in

For completeness, here's my working config:

If all File Types settings are enabled - LMS will choose Flac before
MP3. Next LMS will check if bit rate limiting is on - if it is on then
MP3 will be used.
If bit rate limiting is off and there is Waveinput > Flac is enabled
(i.e shows arecord/flac) then LMS should use Flac encoding - if it

The log is reproduced below. I am a bit mystified. It seems to imply
that no transcoding command was found, yet it is

OK - LMS goes through the loop of matching formats a number of times so
may not have posted the right section. Do the following
1. Enable player.source to DEBUG
2. Note the time
3. Play a wavin stream
4. wait until sound and note time.
5. stop LMS
6. Copy ALL (no editing or cutting out

Hi,
Radio X offer a listen again service. I understand the individual listen

could be used as a base for implementing a Radio X plugin that offered
similar functionality?
How "BBC Specific" is the BBC iPlayer plugin and is
Are you transcoding to Flac or lame ?
Are you transcoding to Lame with ecasound ? If so depending on version
of lame being used - the "-x" can cause white noise.
what version of ecasound ?
The 3.5hr could be due to wav header - that can be fixed with a change
in conf file to use but could

Please stop all other packages and try to install lmsrepack.
You could look at the Synology Log Center files. You might see some
hints there.
If this fails to, there is something else you can try, and use the
lms-update package. Go to http://lms-update.pinkdot.nl and download your
package to
Thanks bpa, guess I'll have to take a look at their website to see what
they offer.
Radio X is the rebranded XFM from the UK. They Chris Moyles doing the
breakfast show which is what I was interested in but need to use listen
again as my Hobg Kong time zone doesn't play nice with UK breakfast

A little more detail would help as it may be a symptom of a latent
problem.

Is it only volume that doesn't work? How long does this last?
And again: does this happen, too, if you don't use the music folder? If
you play the same playlist from the playlists folder?
I've now asked this several times and somehow you don't want to answer
that question.

Aha! This has been an enlightening discussion. I thought LMS was
transcoding to FLAC as my understanding was that this was the default
for for all players (SB touch and squeezelite) which are set to "no
limit" in the player->audio settings.

It's probably because I'm missing synchronization,

New development version is out. After the issues that PasTim experienced
