There are player-specific settings to configure your SB3, Boom or Transporter displays (go to settings, player tab, and there should be a pull-down to select the SDT settings for that player). I may be able to post screen-shot later of my SB3 configuration screen - the settings are not too intuitive (and I've never fully figured out how to use them - I never changed that section of SDT in my update, short of adding additional display strings which can be used to determine which information you want to display). The "size" button on your SB3 remote also changes the look of the display (the size of the font used) - I think I always use the middle size. tcutting's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17402 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107202 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
The 365kbps is a lie. FLAC is lossless, it takes as much or as little bit rate to represent it as necessary. You can throw more cpu at the task to compress a little better, but you absolutely cannot achieve any particular target bit rate. I saw something (linked off get-iplayer mailing list probably) from the BBC saying they're seeing averages around 500kbps but there are peaks up to 1000kbps. This doesn't surprise me at all based on what my CDs rip to as FLAC. There is no "running background box" only "Launch in background" boxes and it only affects what happens when you launch the app in different situations. SB Player always runs in the background. First thing you should check is if your TV Box has settings that affects background apps when the TV Box sleeps. Maybe the device cuts its network connections when it sleeps. I'll raise it on the squeeze2upnp > thread as well. Long chunk time is informative - I expect normally 100-250ms - anything longer usually means a load on servers/network - I'm guessing the DASH/Flac has not been allocated a huge resource but it may be due to delays in compression part of process as I think 365kbps is highly compressed. LOng chunk time havce a much buigger edffect with Fla ccompared to AAC since chuinks are 3.84secs for Flac rather than 6.4sec for AAC - repeated delays in chunk can end up with gaps. IIRC there is a special setting required to use BBCiPlayer with the squeeze2upnp (and similar plugins) - have you been using this plugin successfully before with DASH AAC ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

There a new test stream from the BBC Radio 3 in flac. bpa has got a test version of the BBCiplayer running with it, which works outside the UK as well as in the UK. It works with a Touch, is a bit flakey (for me, but for others OK) with squeezelite and doesn't work at all for me with squeeze2upnp. Other aac streams work fine with it. It also seems OK thus far on 1 minute delay. However, with Local Player (Squeezelite) I'm still getting problems even with a 2 minute delay - it often stops after 2-3 minutes. My default squeezelite configuration upsamples, and increases the load a bit (only to 6% or 7%), so maybe that's causing problems. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Protocol Handler - play Spotify on all your Squeezeboxen
Hello there, I have been using the built-in Spotify Plugin together with the protocol handler for months and was very satisfied. Now I changed my spotify password and applied it to the settings page. First it's telling me, that I am connected but when I try to use the plugin, I receive a 400er bad request error and am no longer connected. I already installed a new lms 7.9 and tried to activate the plugin, but it won't show. the spotifyd.log has following lines - don't know if they are relevant [20:03:43.513409] main:448 /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/SpotifyProtocolHandler/Bin/arm-linux/spotifydhf 2.3.8 started ( libspotify: 12.1.103.gd51f6226 Release Linux-armv6-bcm2708hardfp ) [20:05:25.787488] main:619 req: status.json res: (null) par: (null) prot: HTTP/1.0 auth: (null) [20:05:25.787695] process_status:1464 process status no error in the server.log The 3rd party Triode plugin on the other hand works with the new password. Are there perhaps issues with the length of the password or with special characters? I don't need to enter my credentials on the mysqueezebox.com account, do I? Any help would be appreciated! Well I know that Google Chrome supports flac now, so they may be next on the hit list  I think the BBC is really biased to Mac (especially mobile, their IOS app requires v9, or something) and has been driving browser based streaming for ages. Which thread would you like the flac comments to be on - this or 3.5.2? Anyway, I've had some strange happenings with the delay time. 1 minute doesn't seem to work - it started saying it had a 1 minute delay, then quickly reverted to the program title without the delay, and then stopped playing a minute or two later. 2 minutes was working well, but this time it stopped after 20 minutes or so, and again the program title then reverted to specifying no delay. I can't do any more tests for some hours now. I'l try to do some later. LMS 7.9.1 on VortexBox Midi box, Xubuntu 17.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. Touch & EDO. 2nd Touch standard. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.5.2 beta test
This post relates to V1.5.4 which has only one change from 1.5.3 - to support DASH Flac. It is a rough and ready addition. The BBC have been testing DASH Flac stream for last few months ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/taster/projects/radio-3-concert-sound also http://www.bbc.co.uk/rd/blog/2017-04-radio-3-high-quality-flac-dash ). I have done a mod to BBCiPlayer to play these Flac streams. This has been discussed on the "original" bBCiPlayer DASHthread. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?104672-BBCiPlayer-with-DASH-support-test-version/page28 Although this test is due to end in 2 weeks - it looks like the BBC may be using same technology for Proms so it may be helpful for users to test. see https://www.whathifi.com/news/bbc-proms-to-be-broadcast-in-lossless-audio-first-time and http://www.tvbeurope.com/bbc-deliver-proms-flac-level-audio/ --- Since time is short - this is V1.5.4 quickly put together. Only change is for Flac. Not extensively tested. Change the plugin repo to http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/V154testrelease-repo.xml Install as usual.. Two new menus "Radio 3 Flac" in Live & Live (non-UK). This only plays DASH-Flac format. Make sure plugin "Live Stream Preference" is "Dashflac > DASH" Make sure "Seconds to delay live stream start" is set to 1 min or more. No skip back ability as BBC only provides last 10 mins of live stream. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106409 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Plugins are "instantiated" when the menu item is selected by a player (aka client) and so most initialisation is performed then. Some plugin initialisation occur at LMS startup but it is not player specific. This is a test stream and so I'll not spend time smoothing rough edges. Just enough effort to get a steady playing stream. Main issue is whether the audio quality is better and provide feedback to BBC. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The segment number is related to time-of-day and Flac stream is slower to be "available for playing" to so my calculation always say at least 1 min delay. "No BaseURL" message can be ignored. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
Since time is short - this is V1.5.4 quickly put together. Only change is for Flac. Change the plugin repo to http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/V154testrelease-repo.xml Install as usual.. Two new menus "Radio 3 Flac" in Live & Live (non-UK). This only plays DASH-Flac format. Make sure plugin "Live Stream Preference" is "Dashflac > DASH" No skip back ability as BBC only provides last 10 mins of live stream. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Protocol Handler - play Spotify on all your Squeezeboxen
Hi David You should be able to use WinScp to navigate to your Spotify cache, the path is shown on the Settings page Info tab. Strongly recommend completing the pinkdot instruction, also, if you decide to stay with LMS on the NAS, perform the security update for SSODS. I see that you could use a Spotify app on the NAS for playback, maybe install Philippe's UPnP/DLNA bridge plugin and stream to your players (I think this would work ). Otherwise it's LMS on a raspberry pi :) Ronnie Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105187 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
I was unfamiliar with Flac frame encoding so I assumed headers needs to be added to Flac stream from BBC. After looking at all patches etc in Gstreamer, Firefox and found no evidence of additions/changes to Flac stream so I removed all the mods I made to BBC Flac stream such as the "streaminfo" metablock headers and to my surprise streams played immediately (no delay), no stoppages (albeit only a short test) and on Squeezlite, Touch and Receiver. I'll put together an "alpha" release so that people can test and assess Audio Quality and give BBC feedback. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I had installed the "audio version". I have reinstalled the vanilla version and it's better. :) I didn't read this about audio version... -"This version is only recommended for I2S soundcards and hardwired network. The optimizations for audio has been known to interfere with wifi, and for sure will make USB soundcards unstable."- garrigue's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66728 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107220 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
