Just wanna give some final feedback on my LMS issues. It's running nicely now, thanks to you guys for your help. However, there is something fundamentally flawed with the scanning process. Time varies on my system for a full clean scan between one and almost three hours. Especially the 'Database Optimize (1 of 2) constantly stalls when the black dots are just about halfway 'filled up'. Unless the reason for this is in some way related to how data is stored and distributed on NAS harddrives, there is something going wrong here and I doubt I am the only person experiencing these issues. Cheers With 100k tracks you should have a minimum of 1GB of RAM and use the "Maximum Memory" option in Settings/Advanced/Performance/DB. Using that setting with little memory could cause swapping - not what you'd want. It seems to be possible to replace the memory in the 416play. I'd give that a try. The DB optimization step is extremely heavy on I/O: it's analyzing all the data to improve read access (https://sqlite.org/lang_analyze.html), followed by a vacuum to free unused disk space and optimize the data storage in the db file (https://sqlite.org/lang_vacuum.html). This second step in particular would basically copy the full db file in to a new one, causing lots of reads on the old and writes on the new file. What's the size of your library.db* files? BTW: it's optimization for future use. The process does not "stall", but it takes a while and is monolithic. No problem, I am using it for quite a long time now and never ever came near the limit. From 2 LMS there are about 240 json-calls a day and a maximum of 8 calls of the weathermap. I downloaded the latest Ralphy squeezelite on each test system, compiled it, and used that for all my tests, on my desktop ubuntu and my LMS server running xubuntu 17.04. squeeze2upnp on my LMS server works to one of my players - the other one seems to have flac header issues (not for the first time so not an issue for iplayer). LMS 7.9.1 on VortexBox Midi box, Xubuntu 17.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. Touch & EDO. 2nd Touch standard. LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (to A308CR amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers. Alternatively Minimserver & Upplay to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to PC speakers/headphones. Wireless Xubuntu 17.04 laptop firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver. I wonder whether the squeeze2unp type plugins are making assumptions about Flac format - expecting a file and not a stream. The BBC Flac stream is a "live" stream (i.e. unknown number of samples) not a file so there is no 4 byte code "fLaC" and no "STREAMINFO" metadata block. I have noi problem runngin squeezelite on same computer and audio is OK. I have problem with LocalPlayer - it runs (i.e. stream is playing) but no audio. When run on same computer is squeezelite standalone or through LocalPlayer ? What command line option are being used ?
