[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: AlienBBC - problems today?
I expected the last message to be the same but there was a possibility of other earlier error messages which didn't get logged in the event log. You now have two problems which don't seem to be connected and in code which works from many other users - to me this seems like some sort of installation /configuration problem. A complete uninstall and re-install of Slimserver 6.2.2 and AlienBBC would provide a clean slate in case a file got corrupted or something got left behind after when installing 1.01. There have been a number of strange AlienBBC problems which have been resolved by a complete re-installation. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23382 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

I upgraded to the latest 6.2.2 release last night and when I try to use AlienBBC the slimserver crashes with the following error in my even log... The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Application ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Can't locate object method contentType via package Plugins::Alien::RTSP at /PerlApp/Slim/Player/Source.pm line 1376. I tried downloading the AlienBBC plug-in and reinstalling... same problem. Following your advice to re-install SlimServer and the AlienBBC plugin resolved the problem. I didn't uninstall. I simply stopped the slimserver re-ran the install then while the slimserver was still stopped, copied the AlienBBC plugin back into the directory structure. A restart of the slimserver and it all works fine. Thanks for the advice. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: AlienBBC - problems today?
If you installed using the installer then it is best to use the uninstall option either from the menus or from the control panel - that keeps your Windows add s/w control panel consistent. If you installed by unzipping or if there are files left are uninstalling - then delete the folder. Regarding stability - I think your problem has arisen because of 6.2.2 or perhaps when trying to find your sound problem settings were changed and left the configuration in an unusual state. The shoutcast issue is outside of slimserver control. I have found the when new release are made - some minor problems are found and so it is best to wait for a 1-2 weeks after a release announcement to let teething problems sorted. I think you installed 6.2.2 in the first few days of release. As a matter of interest trying to track the cause of the problem - Did you install 6.2.2 over an existing implementation (e.g. re-install 6.2.2, over 6.2.1) or did you install 6.2.2 only once ? -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23382 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

I have the song scanner plugin (could that be the problem?) which exhibits the same behavior - set the position where you want it to be (click on the progress bar in the base of Moose), and it skips to the next track instead of playing at a different point in the same song. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: [Announce] SlimRemote 0.7
Hi Michael Here is an update on my experiments. I have installed SlimRemote on a Jornada 568 (still Pocketpc 2002, but this time an ARM processor and a bit more speed and ram). This just manages to limp along. It *just* works but often there are long delays and bad screen refreshes. With both the normal and debug builds I have been able to get it to create that same java exception, but no registry entry for it or line number on the error window. My impression is that the problem on the 568 is the same as with the 525 installation, but the extra speed and/or ram means that it limps rather than freezes. I wonder if anyone has had more luck than me using the pocketPC2002 install of EWE? mherger Wrote: Graham, thanks a lot for your help.
