The 365kbps is a lie. FLAC is lossless, it takes as much or as little
bit rate to represent it as necessary. You can throw more cpu at the
task to compress a little better, but you absolutely cannot achieve any
particular target bit rate. I saw something (linked off get-iplayer
mailing list

There a new test stream from the BBC Radio 3 in flac. bpa has got a
test version of the BBCiplayer running with it, which works outside the
UK as well as in the UK.
It works with a Touch, is a bit flakey (for me, but for others OK) with
squeezelite and doesn't work at all for me with
I've just spent an hour listening to BBC R3 Flac on my Touch, 1 minute
delay, with no problems. Thanks very much indeed for your work.
Any quality difference compared to the UK aac 320 is probably illusory,
due to the idea that it's only compressed, rather than processed in some
clever way.
I see that mysqueezebox.com still is an http-Server without
ssl-encryption. It should be very easy to sniff any spotify password and
do whatever they like.
You can use https://www.mysqueezebox.com. (yes, the certificate still
listens to the squeezenetwork.com name, but it's there)

Bonjour à tous
Jai installé le plugin uPNP sous LMS, lenceinte est bien reconnue par

Hi,
thanx for your quick response.
I dare not changing the password on mysqueezebox.com
The background is: My spotify account has been hacked. The hacker could
have easily changed all my playlists -

Yes it does.

Squeezebox apps for webOS, Android and Windows Phone,
DASHed FLAC is working with me as well - without any delay problems.
LMS 7.9.0 via Max2Play on a RI2 in the UK with a 38Mbits broadband
connection.
I will try and listen to find out whether I can identify any musical
impact.

Working very well here - LMS 7.9.0 on Ubuntu Server x86 14.04.05 /

I left my Touch running on Radio 3 flac, 2 minute delay, for 2.5 hours.
All went well (I wasn't listening much since that's a time of day when I
have to attend to other people!). It also seems OK thus far on 1 minute
delay.
However, with Local Player (Squeezelite) I'm still getting problems

Hello there,
I have been using the built-in Spotify Plugin together with the protocol

i recently bought SB Player for using it on my android TV Box.
My problem:

the tv etc...)
Yet i check the "running background box"

Well I know that Google Chrome supports flac now, so they may be next on
the hit list
I think the BBC is really biased to Mac (especially mobile, their IOS
app requires v9, or something) and has been driving browser based
streaming for ages.
All of us with a BBC licence should get a free

Maybe but only if Apple supports DASH and Flac not just than their own
proprietary stuff. Can users play DASH streams on iPhones using Apple
own s/w ?
Is there much audio quality difference

Which thread would you like the flac comments to be on - this or 3.5.2?
Anyway, I've had some strange happenings with the delay time. 1 minute
doesn't seem to work - it started saying it had a 1 minute delay, then
quickly reverted to the program title without the delay, and then
stopped playing
Working here too. UK and LMS on Windows 7.

This post relates to V1.5.4 which has only one change from 1.5.3 - to
support DASH Flac. It is a rough and ready addition.

the past Proms HD has been UK only. The current test stream is
identical for UK and non UK.

is for Flac.
Change the plugin repo to

Install as usual..
Two new menus "Radio 3 Flac" in Live & Live (non-UK). This only plays

Hi David
You should be able to use WinScp to navigate to your Spotify cache, the
path is shown on the Settings page Info tab.
Strongly recommend completing the pinkdot instruction, also, if you
decide to stay with LMS on the NAS, perform the security update for
SSODS.
I see that you could
I was unfamiliar with Flac frame encoding so I assumed headers needs to
be added to Flac stream from BBC.
After looking at all patches etc in Gstreamer, Firefox and found no
evidence of additions/changes to Flac stream so I removed all the mods I
made to BBC Flac stream such as the "streaminfo"
Its good you where able to get it going and thanks for reporting back to
the forum to help others. :D
