Wow, 2.3.5 is already available. Just on a lark I forced an update in
the Store and there it was. That doesn't usually happen so quickly.

LMS: SGC microJukebox running Sonicorbiter OS
Control apps: Squeezelite-X on Win 10; Squeezer or Material web app on
Android
Players: Duet, Touch (two), Mac SqueezePlay, Win Squeezelite-X on laptop
and HTPC

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X

2019-06-29 Thread rgdawson

Just submitted 2.3.5 to Microsoft Store.

Changes:

- Multi-monitor HighDpi fixes for menus. This was a bug that I once
fixed a long time ago that returned. It is something I consider a bug
a bug in my application framework and it took me a little while to
  figure out (again).
-
- Improved resume from sleep. When resuming from sleep sometimes
certain things like network adapters and audio cards are not ready yet
after SLX wakes up. I used to have a delay built in on wake up to
give time for those devices to reappear. Might not have been long
enough as I found certain conditions (such as a remote desktop
session) where it took about 16 seconds for certain audio devices to
reappear. My network adapters can takes about 8 seconds sometimes to
become discoverable after SLX resumes from sleep. So now instead of
an arbitrary wait period, the code will smartly detect when these
devices reappear after resume from sleep, wait longer if necessary and
  wait less if possible.
-

Sorry for the issues recently, hope I have them all cleaned up now.

R Greg Dawson

Thanks for pointing that out, The High DPI screens seem to cause
problems, this was fixed earlier but obviously has returned ;)

I would be surprised also. By experimentation it appears that Spotty
does not increase the count but the same track played via Spotify
increases the count immediately and the fact it is being played is
shown. It may be that there is a lag in the stats updating but that does
not seem logical and also impossible to tell.

I guess the only down-side of using Spotty in this regard is that the
artist misses out on his fraction of a cent!

New user of the plugin here.

Classique Plus is not working, there appears to be a typo in plugin.pm:

This:

Code:

  "francemusiqueclassiqueplus-", "fmclassiquelpus",

wants to be this:

Code:

  "francemusiqueclassiqueplus-", "fmclassiqueplus",

It seems to be working after making that change.

Out of curiosity: Is "no outcome" due to some specific difficulty that
would have to be overcome to implement this or merely due to "it's one
idea among many and I can't possibly implement all of them at once"?

Any ideas on my question re. disabling the search history?

Also, is there any way to view the individual tracks of an album in list
mode as in the standard library?

FWIW the availability schedules, e.g.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/availability/bbc_radio_one.xml, are, at
present, returning 200 responses, and are not being redirected to an
https source.

I can't help but think that, in the context of LMS, requiring "https
security" is somewhat overkill, "secure" is a decidedly relative
concept. Not that I have any particular understanding of the subject.
Continued support of older devices that (from their owners' perspective)
are otherwise perfectly functional seems to me to be worthy objective
and, very likely, reasonably free of risk. I'm delighted my "https
unaware" Radios continues to work well, albeit with some help from LMS.

I'm guessing from your playername in the screenshot that Squeezelite X
is running on a Dell XPS13? If so, then it's probably a High DPI screen
(as in > 1920x1080 resolution). It could be related to post #778 above,

Hello Wayne,

I have not used Squeeze Ctrl for about 6 months. Prior to this I used
Squeeze Ctrl for a number years without issue.

I have started using my Squeeze Ctrl again tonight on my new phone (S5

goes to sleep.

I don't seem to remember having this problem before?

Is there a setting in the app for this? Or should I extend the screen

Yeah, Apple stuff is a real pain. For example, drag'n'drop works on
iPad, but not iPhone. You can't even use a different browser - as Apple
force all browser's to use their own rendering library (so in fact
other browser's are simply alternative shells).

For this track info, you can also long-press on the "Playing" bottom
navigation button whilst on the "Now playing" page.

Thank you, that is the work-around I shall adopt.

Looking into the underlying problem a little more, it seems that
identifying 'touch' actions on a mobile device may vary by OS and/or
browser. I have seen a number of queries from iOS users in a similar
vein, none of which had an answer. I don't have the knowledge to know
what is required to achieve a measure of uniformity across the different
OS's, or where to look for it. I'd like to think that there are some
standardized cunning ruses that are adopted, but what I'd like to think
and reality frequently don't seem to join up !

On the iMac I find the context menu comes up with a right click on my
mouse, or with a two-finger tap on my track-pad. So there is some
variability there, too. The two-finger tap doesn't work in iOS (on an
iPad, anyway).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.8.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2019-06-29 Thread Michael Herger

I would be really surprised if players could tell Spotify not to include
a track in the stats.

Some streaming services indeed expect the player (or the controlling
software like LMS) to report when a track has been listened to. Without
that reporting they wouldn't have any means to calculate listening
hours. But Spotify is different, in that it's not the same http and file
based streaming like all the others.

2019-06-29 Thread Michael Herger

Michael, just a question from an artist in our household who has songs
on Spotify... do plays of a song using Spotty register at Spotify as
plays for that song/artist? t seems to us that they do not register at
Spotify as his stats do not appear to change when I play one of his
tracks. Could it be revised so that it does register?

Now that's an interesting question... but unfortunately outside my
control. I must admit that at some point I realized that my listening
habits through SB would not be represented in my listening history on
Spotify. I never thought much about it, and was even happy, that my
kids' listening wasn't tracked... But what you say is slightly
concerning, as not getting the artist paid is not at all the intention
of this (or its underlying) project. I know that the guys from librespot
(the library I'm using) enforce the use of Premium accounts for this
very reason. I'll ping them.

No, the searches would need to be run independently, there's no combined
search. It's something which has been in the back of my (and others)
head(s) for a while, but with no outcome...

If that is possible at all, is it also possible to

Spotify search would be all across Spotify's catalog, not limited to
your items.
