Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: AirPlay Bridge = integrate AirPlay devices with LMS (squeeze2raop)
Hello, Let me start by thanking Philippe_44 for his work on this marvelous plugin and everyone that helps keep LMS alive! My squeezebox radios have been in used for years but have slowly been replaced with Yamaha MusicCast devices (a receiver and a couple of paired WX-030 speakers). I was actually looking for a better (i mean faster browsing and no memory leak) DLNA server than the Plex one and thought LMS could act as one. I ended up here and i am really glad i did! I do an issue/question regarding the volume control of my receiver: - the receiver's volume goes from -80.0dB to +16.5db (or from 0 to 97 on a numeric scale) - i know the MusicCast app limits the max volume to 0db (or 80.5 in numeric value) - it also limits the max volume with Airplay to -20dB (or 60.5). It seems like a standard practice with Yamaha receivers. the latter is the max volume i can set from LMS (100 in LMS translate into -20dB on the receiver). I do understand Yamaha's reason to limit the max volume from a controler app but i find the Airplay limit quite restrictive. Is anyone aware of a way to circumvent that -20dB limit and at least be able to set the max volume from LMS to 0dB? Could this be achieve by adjusting the volume mapping parameters? Thx! david_phl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70131 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105198 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

So SBPlayer also needs a while to reconnect to LMS. I am using it in the kitchen, so it's name is "Küche". The other player that is always on is running on the LMS direct with attached USB speakers, it is named "Dachboden". So my problem is that after switching on the player is always switched to "Dachboden" because it is the first alphabetically in the list. This is chosen although I made "Küche" the standard player in the settings. Is there anything I can do to let the "Material app" always chose Küche and not Dachboden? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce - Song info plugin for ABC Australia radio
This is a plugin for ABC Australia https://radio.abc.net.au/stations - covering stations such as ABC Jazz, Double J, triple j unearthed Depending on the station, it presents track information (Artist, Title, Cover Art, Label, Year) or programme information (Title, Synopsis, Artwork) As an example - before you install the plugin play "ABC Jazz" or "ABC Country" or "triple j" on your Squeezebox and you will see some limited, if any, track info. Then install this plugin and try again ... and watch the ABC website at the same time - for example for "ABC Jazz" https://radio.abc.net.au/stations/jazz/live The best way to experiment with these stations in LMS is to go to the Radio section and then choose World > National Networks > ABC Australia They have over 50 (around 2/3 are speech only). Note: The broadcaster does not always provide track information in a timely manner - so if you find that sometimes no new details arrive then check on the ABC site to see if they have the same problem. They do generally provide the end time or duration for tracks so you will probably see a progress marker as they play (unless it is a very long track). If it is a song inside a show then ... hopefully ... you will see it switch to the programme info (with progress marker - again unless it is a very long show) when the DJ is speaking. Their timings are not always accurate though ... so don't complain if it seems a few seconds out. I'm trying to use the same data as their web site uses. This plugin relies on the time on your local LMS server to be roughly correct - timezone and time - because the local time is compared with the scheduled time for each track from the broadcaster. If things are not working then enable Debug logging for this plugin via LMS/Settings/Advanced/Logging interface, repeat the problem and then check the LMS logs. You might need a version of LMS more recent than 7.9.1 Feb 2018 because of improvements in LMS to handling HTTPS connections. During development I was seeing issues with LMS/Jivelite not being able to present some of the artwork. This did coincide with nationwide issues with my ISP so that might have been the cause. However, I suspect it was to do with the size of some of their image. They do make some alternative sizes available, so I have currently hard-coded it to try to use an image no greater than 340x340 (which is one of their common sizes). If I cannot find one then I use their default (I have seen as big as 1400 x 1400). There are still some issues that I am working on - but it seems to mostly work. This plugin relies on data from ABC Australia but is not endorsed by them and it could easily break if they change their formats. For now, during the first public testing phase, - add this repository to your local LMS. http://www.dabdig.co.uk/slimserver-rep/repo-abcaustralia.xml Michael H - please don't put it in the list of 3rd-party plugins yet because I will probably change the repo location once it has been verified as working for a few people. And piCorePlayer seems to be picky at how they are constructed. MP4 (doesn't matter which codec) files can be streamable or not - streamable have an index into the the audio stream at the start (i.e. a table of pointers to where in the file the audio stream starts and various time points) - if this index is at the end (usually done by single pass encoders) then if the file is streamed to an ALAC/AAC capable player - the player doesnt know where the audio begins until the end of the file is sent. Rewriting the file with a two pass encoder usually puts the index at the start of the file. ffnpeg calls "streamable" - "mov flags faststart" as "mov" is an MP4 atom for the audio part. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110011 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I go my hands on a cheap Google Nest Mini to play around with. After installing the plugin and selecting the binary the player turned up nearly immediately. Kudos philippe_44! Great job. I then spent some time to get synchronized playback working. Sadly to no avail. I am using a picorePlayer as server which is streaming to another piCorePlayer connected via HDMI to a receiver and the Nest Mini. Playing around with the mini's "player audio delay" and "player start delay" did not lead to any stable results. Even when the sound was synchronized during one track synchronization could be lost with the next. Is this something which could work with the correct (transcoding?) settings, or is the playback of chromecast devices unstable no matter what? armin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yes, but if the connection takes longer than 5 seconds it shows the settings page. If the app had an invalid IP/address configured it sometimes took a while (30 seconds?) for the initial load attempt to fail. Hence waiting 5 seconds. FWIW I also find the info about current track useful. I'd noticed it had stopped working but hadn't yet investigated why. tw99's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51684 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109826 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Probably nothing except it's the one I have installed as it works well with and was recomended by Orangesqueeze when I originally installed it some years back. It's not really a big chore to start it manually on the odd occasions I want to use it but it would be nice to have it automated. Couldn't get the .1 version to work but the new .2 seems to work really well - thanks for the effort in producing this. steve-g's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52057 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Probably quite a few DACs don't display bit depth, so that may explain why this wasn't picked up earlier. The Hi-Fi Cable virtual audio device's control panel display is quite useful for testing Windows audio device setting software. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)
I guess I don't need to hold my breath. I realized that YouTube Music in LMS would require there being an API key, similar to what you do with YouTube for this plugin. A quick google revealed that there is no API key yet. Also on : https://developers.google.com/products/develop/#y there is mention of YouTube, but not of YouTube Music. So right now I'm afraid it's not even possible to have any integration with YouTube Music. In YouTube Music (whether app or website) do a search for an artist and/or song/album there, and you will immediately see that it returns matches from the video service. Content seems to be divided in Video, Songs, Albums, Artists and Playlists. I do think/suspect/hope that if you filter on Albums and Songs, you only get officially released music and is where it is similar to Spotify and which I would like to be able to play through LMS.
