As mentioned earlier in the thread there is no documentation thats 100%
updated, unfortunately this tends to be the case in many projects so it
isnt unique for LMS. At least the source code for LMS and SqueezePlay
is available so you can always look in the source code to get a better
understanding.
Its hard to answer generic questions about parts that arent
documented. If you really want help I suspect you have a better chance
if you ask about a specific response attribute or request you have
trouble understanding. Try to be as specific as possible, then its a
lot easier for someone to give you an answer. Remember that everyone on
this forum is here on their spare time these days. People tend to be
very helpful if you ask specific questions while generic questions often
remain unanswered because it takes a lot of time to answer them and you
dont even know if you are answering the right thing.

FYI The Marantz SACD N30 (with a buit-in/streamer DAC) is compatible with the UpnP-DLNA plugin. Strangly there is no mention about this compatibility in their manual or specification sheet. It also feels to me that the LWP POST fails and I've seen that on my Windows (Windows...) machine with the packaged installation where SNI is not disabled with LWP. It is otherwise, but not there. When I run "manually" LMS under Windows, I don't have that issue because SNI is disabled for sure. The RDS data are extracted from the FM signal and transmitted via DVB RDS additional information. Either sent in a separate data stream that runs on its own RDS-PID (Packet Identifier), like audio on the APID and video on the VPID or videtext on the TTX-PID. This is called a "private stream". The broadcasters of the FFH group have done this for a long time. ARD and IRT have come up with something else and introduced radio transponders. I tried setting the type to "rss" for the containing layer (instead of "link") but that did not help much - for example only the first item of the subsequent set was shown. So I've compromised and only put "description" in the leaf node (type "audio"). That works ok - and appears in Material under More and in Default when you click on the item. I have made a new beta build - PlanetRadio 0.0.2f - configured like this. I have been experimenting with trying to get a description to appear
when viewing a playable item.
I /think/ I have found a problem - am still investigating.
It looks like including the "description" attribute prevents Material
from showing the playable items.
pseudocode:

$menu->{type} = 'audio';
$menu->{url} = 'http://something';
$menu->{on_select} = 'play';
but adding this stops it being playable.
Code:
$menu->{description} = "Hello World";
However, it works in Default skin and iPeng - they show the description
and allow it to be played.
