When I try to run the binary files it returns command not found.

I think the binaries exist but unlike other binaries (eg. Top) they are
not marked as symlink and the properties are different.

How do I check for 32 vs 64 bit.?

The previous Spotty worked without issue

Nice improvements! I had disabled Spotty Ogg Vorbis because of the
volume change from re-converting to PCM/FLAC. I've updated to this
4.5.0 and seeking is working very well. Thanks for this awesome Spotty

What exactly was improved with Spotify Ogg Direct streaming? Seeking
improvements, or something else?

Yes, native seeking. Previosly Spotty would switch to PCM when seeking,
sometimes causing a change in volume level. Plus I believe previously
embedded non-standard meta data in the Ogg stream could cause glitches
in playback.

Also, is what you're calling Ogg Direct here, simply when File Types is
set to both "Prefer native format" and Spotty->"Ogg Vorbis" file type is
set to "spotty-x86_64" (or something other than Disabled, depending on
server platform)??

Yes. I called it this way because initially spotty would receive Ogg,
but always decode to PCM. With Ogg Direct it can send the Ogg data
directly to the player without decoding it to PCM (and re-encode it to
FLAC to save bandwidth etc.).

There has been a problem running the Spotty helper application. You
might want to give the additional "Spotty Helper Application for

Can you ssh into the box, "cd

try to run the various binaries in the sub-folders (in particular

[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup

2021-06-17 Thread mherger

Thanks to philippe44's persistence here's an update to Spotty:

- Improved Ogg Direct mode
- Support for Spotify's Autoplay feature
- Added instructions for multi-user setups with a custom client ID

This release comes with new spotty helper binaries. Please let me know
should you encounter any issue.

Some users encountered issues with their multi-user setup (family
account) when using a newly created client ID. Unfortunately Spotify
changed the way how they deal with client IDs. This change requires
another step to add additional user accounts to the client ID. See
(https://github.com/michaelherger/Spotty-Plugin/issues/38#issuecomment-863527092
- thanks user Deretour!). I added instructions for this to the client ID
information.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin

2021-06-17 Thread staresy

Hi,
Not sure this is the correct place to post, the request is can the audio
from BBC TV services be made available to play via LMS?

I ask in this thread, because the BBC iplayer and BBC sounds use the
same login/account, so in my simplistic mind perhaps the TV audio could
be made available through this plugin?

The use case is to "listen" to shows that don't really need the video,
mostly news/debates etc such as Newsnight, Question Time (which used to
be simulcast on TV and R5 but, alas, no longer).

Alternatively of course, is there an online resource for BBC TV audio
that can be streamed to LMS, I can't seem to find anything?

Unlikely to be an iPeng issue but you can check by using the regular LMS
web interface.
If it fails there then enable logging on plugin.bbcsounds and post the
output in BBC sounds thread.

If it only fails when being initiated from iPeng then will need some
iPeng diagnostics but I don't remember how to generate them.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)

2021-06-17 Thread typecrazy789

I've queried about my using the UPnp/DLNA bridge in combination with the
UPnp/DLNA Renderer in Foobar2000 in order to use the Sqrsoft crossfader.
When I posted about this last winter I was struggling with only stereo
FLACs working, and to that extent I finally gave up and just converted
everything to that format and it more or less works flawlessly, and with
the bridge stream length set to -1 it will play for days without
crashing.

But I've noticed really short tracks - 10 seconds or less - will not
crossfade, and in the bridge on any track that won't fade in the log I
see:

[14:25:45.100] sq_callback:366 [004C30F0]: next URI gapped (s:1)
http://xxx.xxx.x.xx:x/bridge-11.flac

...where normally there'd be language indicating gapless.

A 10 second track or less will just play normally with no crossfading at
all; an 11 second track will crossfade at the beginning of the track but
not the end, and a 12 second track (and longer) works fine

I realize this is most likely a problem with the Renderer, which there's
no longer support for. I'm not sure what I should be looking for on that
end; any ideas? If I actually play the same tracks in the same order
directly in Foobar2k it crossfades perfectly, so I know the crossfader
is capable, and presume it must be a buffering issue somewhere in the
chain.

Thanks in advance!

I guess this could be accessed via the 'More' menu. Like how 'Create
similarity mix' is accessed. I'll have to give it some thought.

afriend wrote:

Musly does not indicate if its danceable, etc, that needs something like
Essentia - which the MusicSimilarity can plugin can use as a backend.
Essentia tries to classify tracks (aggresive, danceable, accoustic,
etc). I then thought about using the scores of these characteristics as
a way of finding similar tracks. (This is the reason I renamed this
mixer from Musly to Similarity - as it can use either Musly or Essentia
data).

Must admit, I was starting to think the problem might be elsewhere. I've
done 'systemctl daemon-reload' and 'service logitechmediaserver restart'
in my testing and it seems to make no difference. With just
SL_NAME=Player in the parameter file, LMS recognises the player straight
away, no restarts of LMS nor init.d reloads needed. So, no urgency

Also ... which shell is it being run under when being initiated from the
startup process?

Picky but with well defined syntax. I'm surprised the backslash didn't
work. As it is picky, the best way to approach is NOT trial and error
but finding out the result of each attempt and what is failing .

You could try running the /etc/init.d/squeezlite shell script from a
login session with the "-x" option ahead of the

if you are using bash then something like

bash -x /etc/init.d/squeezlite

I'm trying different things out, trial and error, simply because - as
you say - it's picky.

As I said earlier...

...didn't work either.

The escaping mechanism can be picky - your 2nd example show you used
character back tick *`* and not single quote *'* - single quote.
Backtick is special character in shell scripts.

Your backslash example also has an error
> SL_NAME="\"The Player"\"

It shoudl be escaping the inner quotes

Code:

SL_NAME="\"The Player\""
