Apologies for not getting back to you with logging info on the issue
with CLI issued blocks not being cleared, and automated shutdown not
working.
I had to rebuild my server in the end, and installed Ubuntu 9.10, and
SBS 7.4.2, and am hence using the beta version of SrvrPowerControl.
I can confirm that genpuid-1.2 is compatible with MusicIP 1.8.
For MIP1.9 you have to use Genpuid-1.4 (which has some nice additional
features to 1.2 including multi-threading).

I am running MIP headless on Linux, its part of the MIP package which
contains both the MIP application and the server component.
The only reason to run the MIP application is to create filters for MIP
headless to use (should have mention that before, probably would have
made things clearer).

GenPUID 1.4 is the newer bit. I can't find any where to download

Now I'm experience problems with Music IP!!
Since I moved to SlimServer 6.3.1, as others here have mentioned, only
some tracks appear mixable. I've swapped between 6.3 and 6.3.1 several
times and the problem only happens in 6.3.1.

I had a good browse through my lastfm charts, and indeed, there is all
the lastfm music I've listened to - good stuff.
I've noticed that music you listen to from other radio stations doesn't
get submitted, which makes sense I think - is that correct?

I'm still having problems...
When I try to save the mypicks file using either Save File or Save
My Picks (whats the difference by the way?), it crashes SlimServer.
Also when I click on Add icon (to the right of an existing entry), it
also crashes Slim.

I'm just trying to listen to BBC Radio 4 Long Wave to listen to Test
Match Special, but its not working. Takes ages to connect, then sais
its playing, but there is no sound, and the playtime counter doesn't

running Softsqueeze 2.3 - no Squeezeboxes (yet, but soon!)
Have you tried the later Beta? MIP1.6 Beta 4 has just come out.
Also, what other settings do you have?
For example, how often does Slim check MIP for updates? I think the
default is quite frequent. Try changing that to 0 (i.e don't check).
Have you got a music library path specified in Slim,
I agree, AlienBBC is a terrific plugin, the writers deserve high
praise.
To listen to Mercury, you need to find GWR stations, and scroll
through the list there - about 40 stations. Its about number 27 I
think.

OK, I've just done some testing, and SoftSqueeze is definately playing
my FLAC files natively, no transcoding, yet I can't use Song Scanner.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
I'm using SoftSqueeze 2.3, and Slimserver 6.2.1 on Windows XP.
