[SlimDevices: Plugins] Is there some Video Player Software similar to PiCorePlayer ?
Looking for some Software for the Raspberry Pi that could play Videos to your TV stored from a NAS, and or streamed from a USB Hard Drive. Something similar to PiCorePlayer is to Audio. It solves the problem for me perfectly. Once again... If you use a Qobuz app for your phone or PC, you can indeed find the User Created Playlists by searching... And if you mark that Playlist as a Favorite (Or 'subscribe' to it) , it will now show up in the Qobuz Web Control under 'My Playlists'... And it will also show up in LMS under 'My Playlists' - Which is exactly what I was trying to accomplish. Well, for anyone following this problem..., here is a solution. You can search the Qobuz App on Android, iPhone, MAC or PC and search "Late Night Jazz", then select playlists... The Apps will return Public Playlists... then Subscribe to that playlist and it will show up in LMS as a Qobuz Favorite So this is the 'Work Around' as I'm, guessing you cannot mark the Playlist a Favorite within LMS ?? I can search Playlists on Qobuz in the Web Control Page of LMS (PiCorePlayer) I come across some playlists that I like this way, that seem to be added by others in Qobuz... I have marked these in the Qobuz App as Favorites, so that they show up in PiCorePlayer... How much free space left > > on it? > > There must be thousands of these configurations out there... wouldn't > there have been any errors during the installation process? OK, this was a weird one... To figure out what was going on. I took a spare Raspberry Pi that I had and Installed the 8.1.0 Release as a Player/Server to emulate what my friend was doing 1,200 miles away During the install, I entered my Credentials for MySB.com (which had my Tidal as an Application already) PiCorePlayer came 'alive' and I installed All patches and updates in LMS and Squeezelite... The Tidal Plugin was already Checked (probably based on MySB.com having my Tidal App)... Tidal worked without a hitch for my Tidal Account. This confirmed to me that the 8.1.0 Release was working for what we were trying to do. So, I needed to verify that his MySB.com Account had valid Credentials as well as his Tidal Account. So, I sent my friend an e-mail telling him that he needed to send me: 1.) His Login and Password to his MySB.com 2.) His Login and Password to his Tidal Account So, I get his his credentials and I change the PcP to His MySB.com Account and I see Tidal Listed under 'My Apps'. When I click on Tidal, I get an error message that 'Tidal has invalid credentials'. OK, now we're getting somewhere... I login to his MySB.com Account and see Tidal listed as an App as well as his Tidal Account So, I delete his Tidal Credentials from his MySB.com account and Re-Add them using the information he provided to me It links to his Tidal Account with a Checkmark. OK. So, now we re-start Squeezelite with the new info and just like that I'm streaming with His Tidal Account... Everything is working perfectly. So, now I tell him, he had some bad Tidal Credentials loaded into his MySB.com Account and that I have corrected them (Not sure why his Tidal Account even showed up with a Bad Login and/or Password, but it did).. So, he continues to try to check the Tidal Plugin Box and it will not let him do this at all !! So, here is what I'm guessing may have happened.. During his installs of PcP, because of his Bad Credentials for Tidal, it did not automatically check the Tidal Box Pluggin... And PcP prevented him from checking the Tidal Pluggin Box even though he had corrected the credentials, and restarted PcP many times. On my system However, since I installed PcP with my own MySB.com account which had my correct Tidal Credentials initially, the Tidal Plugin was already checked upon install, and gave me an error message of 'Invalid Tidal Credentials' when I pointed to my friend's MySB.com Account.. So, I'm guessing the only way around this was to Correct the MySB.com Account (Or not have Tidal entered at all) and then do a Fresh Re-install of PcP. Which I'm having him do.. It will work for sure, as I have done it here in my Home... So that is why this was the Bitch of All Bitch PcP installs for me... OK, Thanks ! --- My Thoughts I was in the Software Business for over 30 years, so I am familiar with software releases etc. --- The people I help mostly just want to push a button and play music Ideally, the fewer buttons to install a given release is better I have been a user of PiCorePlayer/LMS for over 10 years now. The release packaging of PiCorePlayer is not obvious to me, and the people that I help are pretty much clueless and gravitate to a Volumio solution at the first sight of a problem... Not sure what your objectives are in terms of getting new users running PcP. But ideally, a PcP Release such as 8.1.0 would have everything included when you downloaded it, patches and all... --- Yes it is more work to patch a couple releases with Bug Fixes. (Not development). And having just 1 or 2 releases on your download page should be plenty... I don't think you would want people going back 3 or 4 releases to install PcP, so I'm not sure why they are there We used to drop support of our Software Releases on a Regular Basis to limit the amount of Patches. And I think, the way you have things structured is that; No matter which version of PcP you download, you get the same version of LMS? - Correct? -- This is confusing to me. It would seem that you would want to package LMS with the Player portion of PcP.. But at any rate, I love the features of PcP and encourage all of the new people I install to donate to your efforts Cut-Throat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43167 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116212 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

So, I added another MySB account under my Wife's E-mail address and could not get any Apps to work at all. Not even Tune In Radio to show up under My Apps in LMS... Everything seems to function fine under MySB adding apps Configuring e-mail addresses, but none of the Apps will show up under LMS. As far as any 'wear on the SD Card'. LMS via PiCorePlayer only used the SD card to boot up. You can remove it from the Pi after Boot and everything will run just fine. I've tried it! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
I posted quite a bit about this problem last year, and so I thought I'd take another try at it. The Chromecast Bridge is a very useful pluggin for myself and Audiophile Buddies What we are trying to do is just display the Album Art on our TVs while the Chrome-cast is synced to another Raspberry Pi Player. The main problem we are having is when using Qobuz and when playing a Hi-Res Track, it will cause a number of problems, sometimes causing the track to stop playing entirely. This is with the Chromecast synced to the Raspberry Pi. The Rpi is the master and the Chromecast is the Slave. But even in this configuration the Chromecast will cause the track to quit playing and basically 'freeze' the entire process. Only to start up again and freeze a minute later. Removing the Chromcast Slave and replaying the Track will correct the problem This track was reproducible for me. 35904 Cut-Throat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43167 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have seen a few posts on people that got it to work with HiFiBerry Settings (Which I have tried a few iterations to no avail)... I have also tried Coax output, but cannot get any sound out of this 'Hat'. Can someone recommend the Output setting for this 'Hat' Cut-Throat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43167 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114852 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] PiCorePlapyer - LMS showing duplicate Albums for some Artists .....
This seemed to start happening just in the last couple days. I noticed with Qobuz on a Certain Artist that I have marked as a Favorite on Qobuz, when I look at that artist (Greg Brown) on LMS and look at Albums by that Artist. Most all of his Albums are Duplicated. If I hit play on the Albums some of them will populate the Queue, but will not play at all. The other album will often play. When I view that Artist's Albums on the Qobuz Web Player App, the Album list looks fine... No Duplicates (BTW - This artist does not have any Hi-Res Stuff, where the albums do get duplicated, but are marked as 'Hi-Res') Cut-Throat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43167 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114703 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Also. Once you get used to a Raspberry Pi, you have a lot more options I take one traveling that has both the LMS Server and Player running on the same Rpi and my 2TB - 5,500 Album Music Library stored on a USB drive Cut-Throat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43167 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111876 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Also you are dealing with just one Download (PiCorePlayer) instead of separate Download for the NAS. I have a Topping D90 DAC and it has an I2S input, which I would like to use. Is this possible by doing this? 1.) Set PiCorePlayer Output to HDMI 2.) Get a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable (From Pi to DAC) If possible, are there any other considerations? And anyone have a cable recommendation (Or will all work?) However, the why not for myself; is why we are having this discussion in the first place. Software Obsolescence and more 'pieces of software'. I used to run pinkdot's stuff on my NAS few a few years, and now we are going the Docker route. And when you said "You like the idea of keeping it all in one place" --- I do too, but I'm thinking of the software, not the hardware. That is where we spend most of our time 'tinkering', rather than the hardware. When I moved to the Rpi Model 4, I detected a snappier, fast response from LMS also. Couple this with the PcP developers recommend a Rpi to run LMS and all of the PcP software is 'Packaged' in the PcP Download. Also, most of my listening is via Streaming, either radio stations or Qobuz My NAS is on but usually sleeping most of the time. I Just wanted your opinion on what you thought the advantages are... It doesn't seem like a big thing either way. - It's good to have options. [SlimDevices: Plugins] PiCorePlayer - Possible Quirk/bug in 7.0 64 Bit Version ..............
I have been helping someone install PcP 7.0 the last few days. He was having problems getting his Synology NAS to Mount. He had entered a few bad Parameters for his NAS in earlier attempts... I came into helping him at this point and we entered the Correct Parameters and the real challenge was that he needed "vers=1.0" in the Options list. After entering this option we were able to mount the NAS just fine and select his Music Library Folder. And it would appear in the Media Folder Box as "/mnt/Music/Music Library" - Everything looked good. However, as soon as he hit the Rescan (Clear Everything Option) - The Media Folder Box containing "/mnt/Music/Music Library" would be replaced by an earlier mount attempt that he had tried. Re-booting the Rpi yielded the same results. After a few hours of troubleshooting, I told him to download the 32 Bit version of 7.0 and Start Over... Everything worked fine after this Just noting this as a Public Service Announcement. Is there a way to look at an individual Rpi and tell whether you are running 32 or 64 Bit? I went to the diagnostics Page and then Raspberry Pi, but did not see the info there. [SlimDevices: Plugins] PiCorePlayer - Does not show Tabs of other Players on the Network ...................
PiCorePlayer - Does not show Tabs of other Players on the Network when using a separate Rpi for the Server. This is when I access the LMS Server Rpi - If I access the other Squeezelite Players on the Network, I can see all the Tabs of other players just fine. I had thought this was working at one time, but I have just upgraded to 7.0 (And 64 Bit on the LMS Server Rpi). Is this because I have squeeze-lite disabled on the LMS Server Rpi?
