hello michael,
this is my understanding of basic flow of streaming bits from spotify:
sqzlite/rpi4 < spotty/lms < spotify
if this is correct, is there practical advantage of running lms inside
rpi4,
so as to eliminate some lan traffic?
please set me straight on this...

When this one-track-behind occurs, it also happens on the LMS web
interface.
So we can rule out squeezelite on RPI.

hints hopefully.

hi michael,
just to follow up, the issue of not being able to transfer playback to
the Spotty device is inconsistent.
usually in the morning when both LMS and squeezelite boot up, i can
select the device and as long as i leave it alone, it plays just fine.
but if i change to another device and

thanks for the heads-up.
for now, things are stable here with that monitor-option checked.
i did notice the following log entries:
For couple of days, I have been having trouble with selecting a Spotty
device.
When I click on the device in Spotify app, it shows it in green
highlight and then immediately de-select it.
Spotty device would disappear from the list and then, moments later,
re-appear.

i know it is *hard* to believe, but i have had issues when connecting to
5 ghz ssid.
i'm certain that you can take out that v4.0.6
i have found the culprit:
5GHz wifi access point used by LMS machine.
i happened to check the machine and it was connecting to the 5GHz AP
i'm guessing due to its stronger signal.
i disabled the 5GHz and instead connected to the 2.4GHz AP.
and all seems to be working normally!

squeezelite device shows up in Spotify as usual and i can activate it as
usual.
Spotify shows it as playing but at rpi3, there is no display of track
(via jivelite).
and no audio.

Hello all, I'm one of those cord-cutters whose only internet connection
is a mobile hot-spot.
When t-mo is open full-throttle (up till 10gb), it can clock up to
30mbps or even higher and everything's beautiful.
But when 10gb allotment runs out, the speed goes down to 600kbps and
that's when odd

first, the on-again/off-again issue of Spotify Connect device

pattern.
second, i have all components (LMS, squeezelite, jivelite) running on
the raspberry. and most importantly, LMS database is on usb drive
directly attached to pi.
that 2 separate Spotify streams are going simultaneously?
Not that i'm complaining bitterly but just curious how Spotty works.
here's what's happening:
when the RPi boots up, a script starts up a favorite playlist which
happens to be Spotify.
and it streams just fine.
but the Spotify app (both

ok, where exactly do i enable INFO logging?
this morning
these are some symptoms:
1) often playback stops when one song completes. of course, there are
more in the playlist. i have to kick start it.
2) several times, i could hear a split-second blip of the next song and
then, nothing.
3) earlier in the day, a restart of LMS made this behavior go

who know what caused the problem? mysteries of software...

Connect.
i'm about to try the good old uninstall/install process.
pavowren's Profile:
i'm on pCP 3.5.0 with LMS 7.9.2.
suddenly this morning, Spotty stops after each song and I have to
manually start it again.
from the sound of it, it plays split second of the next song and then
stops.
any idea what's causing this?
"oddly" is for sure.
just now, Android Spotify showed the device at the bottom bar as the
active device.
as stated, it normally does not do this.
per your comment, i tried a complete re-install and there's no device at
the bottom bar,
just in the settings...
what is pCP?
i now do the "shutdown"

well, i normally switch off the main strip. what
hello,
once in a while when i start up my RaspberryPi (running max2play),
the spotify device is missing.
this morning i happen to be browsing the LMS settings and noticed that
on the advanced settings page,
the device was "unchecked" for Spotify Connect.
as soon as i checked it and applied, the
hello,
i'm running Spotty under max2play on RPi, all the latest software.
the Connect device shows in the SqzLite controller app, Orange Squeeze;
and only after i select the device there, does it show up elsewhere like
Spotify app itself.
i do have the following Spotty option un-checked:
Don't

i've now tried all available controller apps including commander,

each has +'s and -'s. all are fairly robust and do not crash, always a

commander's biggest strength is in its handling of large lists such as a
