Klassik from BR for now.
If you downloaded an earlier build of 31e then don't bother reporting
that the other BR stations do not show data.

- Start adding Bayerischen Rundfunk (DE) - Bayern1 and BR-Klassik -
title, artist, duration and coversearch (not Klassik) plus programme
title, subtitle, duration and cover

Had a request by email for BR-Klassik.
I managed to get it working and then had a look at the other stations in
the group ( https://br.de ) and they use a different setup for their
metadata ... so just done a quick implementation for Bayern1 as a test.

For BR Klassik ... there is no track artwork because they do not provide
any and doing lookups on classical material with the data provided is
too inaccurate.
I could provide the programme image as the track artwork ... let me know
(here) if you would prefer that for this station only (and don't ask for
it to be configurable).

That URL does not work for me but they do have other streaming URLs on
their site and they do work.

Their press release material is old, they list one station that does not
seem to be broadcasting.
Anyway ... I can get two stations working with the plugin and will show
artist, title and their cover art.

The ORF stations do provide some information within the stream as
metadata but I think I can make it better in LMS by adding their cover
art.

When I tuned in they were playing a DJ mix - and the track information
was not updating so I need to take a look during the day when they are
playing regular songs.
In LMS I see no track data at all when it is playing so I am fairly
confident that I can improve on that.

The extra info that helps when assigning priorities (although right now
there is no queue so they go straight to the front).

When you play them with LMS do you get track/programme info?
Do they have track/programme info on the web sites or in their mobile
app?

Regenbogen and Regenbogen  2 are the other stations in the Audiotainment
group.

There were some issues in getting these in because they have stations
with the same names across more than one station in the group and they
are using what looks initially to be the same URL for them but they play
different content. In reality the URLs do differ but it made my matching
stuff too complex so I have gone for a simplified solution that relies
on the "redir" stuff working properly (which it does).
It makes the plugin work a bit harder when trying to match things but
the effect is not noticable.

The station data is often a minute or so ahead of what you hear so I
have tried to minimise that effect by not using their timestamps (except
for the live stations ... since I need them there so that I can timeout
a track and replace it with programme details when news etc is on).

Their song artwork is quite high-res when compared to other stations so
these look pretty good on a large screen.

This is another group of stations from audiotainment (mentioned in
previous post).

They also have timestamps that are off by about 1 minute ... so this
time I have disabled checking of the timestamp for all of the "jukebox"
stations.
I do still check it for the "live" stations (the ones with the name of a
city in their station name) because otherwise it would result in the
track details for the previous song being shown through a lengthy news
item ... but it also means that as long as their timing is wrong then
the display of the track will also be wrong. Currently this means that
the info is removed about 1 minute before the end of the track.

If you are a regular listener to their stations and you find this
annoying then watch what happens from their own web site and then ask
them to fix it if you see and hear the same issue there.

Without the plugin you would have received artist and title thanks to
built-in LMS handling of in-stream metadata for their MP3 and AAC
streams - plus, if not in UK and played by TuneIn then you would have
received cover art as well (I expect).
But not for the flac stream.
With the plugin you should get it for the flac stream and can use the
menu to select which stream to listen to (flac, aac@256, mp3@320,
aac@48).

Most of the time the station is on automatic playlist. However, evenings
and week-ends they do have some specific shows - based in Shetlands.

be DJ-lead indie-ish - plus automated overnight.
Sometimes there is no song info - check their web site first to see if

Without the plugin, I think WFMU would display something like
"Song Title" by Artist Name on Programme Name
and without coverart.
While this tells you what you need to know - it is not really how things
are supposed to work.
So with the plugin you should see artist, title, album name and coverart
(via coversearch) and sometimes will see the programme name.

Hi Paul;

Via tune in, it plays with artist/song info, but no album art. Note that
it's only 64kbps MP3

Can someone in USA try playing the geo-locked  WRSI https://wrsi.com to
see if there is song info when played via LMS?

Ideally try via TuneIn and RadioNet 

I think I could add artist, song and their cover art but there is not
much point me adding it if the info is already present.

metadata management. Will see if they ever respond.

Sorry to those who updated to 0.0.28 in the last few hours.
An annoying issue with cover art in some situations was found due to
some new code in that release.
Hopefully this resolves it.

How odd—in the interim I noticed your 0.0.29a update and installed
that... and Jazzradio.fr is back to giving me track, art etc.

Anyway, thanks for all the fish, etc.

And alpha-not-alpha seems like it will remain a mystery. No prob. Just

I suspect their data.
I leave the track details in place for X seconds after a scheduled end.
This is to try to step it switching to a station logo between each track
- especially annoying if the track timings are not quite right.

Try with their web player running alongside. If that is showing things
that I miss then maybe I can work out what they are doing differently
and adapt.

I just tried Bon! Prog-Rock as well and it updated.

Also, while I'm on, in Material Skin (not checked anything else) I'm
seeing RNP's top list of stations running in an initial chunk
alphabetically (80s/90s to Zog), then four stragglers, then a second
alpha run (BigFM to Whisperings), and one final straggler (Cesky
Rozhlas). Should it not be one long alpha list? Can't see any settings
that would control this.

As consequence of this update you should also see more cover art.
This is because they changed the URLs for the station logos and this
messed up my check to see if I was being provided with a station logo or

integrate RADIO BOB! which has a nice selection of about 40 rock streams
incl. the Wacken stream. Maybe you could have a look into it.

Renamed the previous incarnation in the beta - from rova to MediaWorks
This is because rova promotes a number of stations that are not in
MediaWorks group and I think if I am going to try to include the rova
additions then I need a better way to get the list of stations and
related data.

Interesting indeed. The comments "most of our songs are encoded in mp3,
so we are upscaling..." and "Our song library has alot of FLAC format
songs..." I guess experimental is right, they must just be testing
bandwidth and other technical stressors. Upscaling mp3 to FLAC does no
good from a listening standpoint (IMO), and most > alot, so maybe the
FLAC stream is not worth Paul maintaining.

It makes me wonder if this (mixed format/upscaling) is the reason you
previously picked up on the dynamic range compression/limiting aspect of
some songs, while at other times/songs sounded normal? I remember
waveforms you presented where it was obvious, then others where it
seemed normal. I remember even commenting "hey, it sounds ok again" and
thought they had corrected the issue

thanks for looking, same as their website. I was wondering the the fb
site might note any recent "changes" to the urls.

I have this memory (not always reliable) that RNP/Paul used the without
metadata url, and had rnp add it. My memory was that the "with metadata"
url has always been unreliable. In fact, I think I trumpeted the FLAC
stream to the forum, and I think you/others told me it dies after one
song :o oops. Then we got into the loudness/compression discussion :)

I think when you say "it" and the stopping, you mean the torontocast
url's, correct? If so, I agree, they are unreliable. I had given up and
just listened to the mp3 and aac streams. 

But today, just for grins, I visited their site and noticed the numeric
url is new. I tried it and it played without interruption for hours. Of
course with no metadata.

Perhaps it is something recent. In the high resolution audio site for
JB2

I just had a quick look.
RNP is using the torontocast URLs for jbradio2 ... and, currently at
least, that is the flac with meta.
I can add in their other one (numeric) so that RNP matches it and
fetches metadata from elsewhere.
I have not changed this recently so it implies to me that either
jbradio2 have switched around their flac URLs or they have changed how
they encode the metadata in their torontocast stream.
I say this because I am sure that I have left it running on LMS using
the RNP flac url and had it playing well and RNP added metadata for LMS.
I played it just now and it stopped at the end of a track but managed to
resume after retry but stopped again near end of the following track and
did not resume via retry.

Hi Paul;

I decided to check on JB Radio 2 FLAC stream again, and while the "with
metadata" stream (~8076/flac) still has problems, the "without metadata"
stream has played fine for about an hour (but no art/song info).

Perhaps they changed the url and RNP isn't seeing it? They have changed
url's in the past

Paul, too bad your plugin can't access Toronto's CFNY 102.1 "The spirit
of radio", one of the legendary alternative/eclectic stations from the
80's (now "The edge") https://spiritofradio.ca/. As alternative/punk/new
wave/new genres were just breaking, they were on top of it, along with
allot of great personalities (Pete and Geets for example). Often when I
listen to stations like Radio Paradise, JB Radio 2, etc, I think that
CFNY was a pioneer.

In my younger days, growing up on the other side of Lake Erie, with an

- Add SuperStereo Radio Chile - 7 stations (flac and aac - thanks to
broadcaster for info about new streams launching 1-Nov-2022 (artist,
title and cover via coversearch)

Note - the Dance station (SS3) sometimes has multi-hour untitled
continuous mixes so you will not always see what is playing.
There are occasional glitches where they do not put in the track details
but seems to be fairly reliable.

Only 5 and 6 show song data.
5 has been reliable for a long time but 6 started working a couple of

It's mostly working for me - based in Toronto. I tried 102.1 The Edge as
suggested - sometimes a slight lag on the song title compared to the
sound track but pretty darn good. I went browsing a few other stations
and had a quick listen across Canada. Thanks so much - Julian

In general, the stations with music (apart from Country) will not play
outside of Canada.

There was a lot of copy/paste for the station configuration so plenty of
scope for mixing up some of the info.

Experiments have shown that the song timing is not very accurate,
especially around adverts and news breaks.

For music stations you should get artist, title, cover, album
(sometimes).
For speech programmes you should get the programme / segment name and
sometimes some artwork.

If things do not look right then please check the web site of the
broadcaster first before letting me know ... just in case it is their
data that is wrong rather than me getting it from the wrong place.

I suspect there will be a problem with this though ... if the item_id
represents the position in the menu then it will probably change when a
new station group is added (if it is earlier in the alphabet).

I have one more request, I'm trying to play one radio from home
assistant but it looks like there's no way to play it directly.
Is there a way to start playback of a radio inside your plugin via RPC
command?

I can see the plugin via RPC at the moment:

The usual reason for me is that LMS has disabled PlayHLS because of
failing to load.
If I restart LMS then it probably manages to load it next time around.
However, if I visit the LMS plugin list in settings while it has failed
to load then LMS marks it as disabled and removes it ... so it then does
not reappear on next start and I have to go through installation again.

The error is

a hack could be to only "my" it if not already defined ... but that is
