Whitebear is a server - to be discovered by a renderer or control
point.
Something like XMBC should find it.
I think that Windows 7 has a control point - since MS are endorsing the
Play To initiative of DLNA.

I think it would have worked with AlienBBC because it is your SlimServer
machine that connects to the internet to get that RealAudio stream and
it then converts it to pass it to the Squeezebox - i.e. Squeezebox did
not need direct internet connection.

FYI - the official RadioTime plug-in includes a run-time check for the
presence of the AlienBBC plugin and if found it specifically asks
RadioTime to mark the RealAudio stations as supported in the downloaded
list.

Theme Time (plus a few others - e.g. some of the World Music on Radio 3,
Broadcasting House on Radio 4) only have a link to the Flash encrypted
MP3 stream .. not the Real Audio.
For now I'm assuming that this is a mistake and teething problems at
the BBC end.

For those with Raspberry Pi devices where this still doesn't work, the
problem might be that support for ALSA sound is not included as default
e.g. RaspBMC 1.0
ALSA sound was not enabled by default in early OS releases on RPi
because it occasionally caused crashes. Things have improved since then
OK - I've switched to 0.31 from CVS - and I'll watch to see how it
goes.
(first submission on retry - server busy - no SlimServer shutdown)

It looks like WiKiRadio navigates down to the first radio station

Odd thing is that none of the debug lines come out if switching from

FYI I saw a report today that Amazon Echo can now be configured to
recognise "Computer" as a wake word.
