Hi. I'm new to oldish powerbooks so I'm learning as I go. My next hurdle is
getting my 3400 to print onto my Epson stylus color 740, and I could use a
word of advice.I installed the software fine, and the 3400 finds it in the
chooser, and finds the modem/printer port, but the printer does not
One more question--Is there any way to make the trackball on my 165 roll a
little smoother? It sort of catches a little bit and feels a little grainy
as I move it. I've cleaned the works underneath pretty thoroughly with
alcohol, but I won't be squirting any WD-40 or something down there unless
Bill--
The guy I got it from says he is sending the cord (yesterday)--so in a few

Congrats on getting a 160.

did you ever get a power supply for it?
or at least borrow one to see if it works?
also, if

Hmm... given that we're talking about a 1400, there are really only two
options to consider for the ATA drive:
1) Some kind of PCMCIA-ATA adapter. These used to be marketed as a way of
migrating data from an old laptop drive to a new one.
2) The recently posted hack that converted a 1400 CD-ROM
Greetings All:
Is there a keyboard command or software ability to control
the brightness and contrast of a PB 190 without using the display

Thank you,

I wouldn't squirt ANYTHING down there.
just remove the trackball and clean the rollers that are in there.
I (gently) use a pair of tweezers to remove the buildup of grime.

I'm very interested in chasing any info on methods of making
a 190 or 5300 go wireless. I'd much appreciate any leads or tips!
There are a few pages online dealing with doing this with a 1400, and at least one
that mentions the 190 in the same breath. Fwiw, I haven't had any luck with
