As was pointed out though, VNC to Winders boxes isn't great for more than

And as I always say - VNC/LogMeIn/Webex et al are very different things
than TS or Citrix.

Interesting discussion but moving away somewhat from the originally intended
topic.
This was not specifically on behalf of any one particular client rather a
discussion of what clients in general require at the moment and in the
future. A large part of my time is currently spent maintaining

appears to me that to do this VFP would require some sort of Linux

Nick,
Have a look at http://www.acs.cc/solutions.html specifically the Information
Delivery System (ACS-IDS). This allows you to control the hardware and have
Linux, MAC, and Windows machines run Windows applications through an
internet connection. I've even seen it work on a Windows Mobile

Hi All,
While recently playing with Virtual Servers, I discovered a new world of
Virtual Applications running over a VNC console. This got me thinking can a
VFP app run in a VNC console. Does the VFP application require some sort of
wrapper around the outside to enable it as a VNC Virtual
had to run the
reports and fax them to head office.
Definitely doable!!

I'm pretty sure you can have many sessions on 1 server. But I think the
purpose of VNC is to give true console access. Not fake access as in
Terminal Server et. al.
I suspect that VNC is single user on Windows because of Windows, and it
works properly multi-user on Linux for the same reason.
Windows Terminal Server is Bill's equivalent of a proper multi-user box.
I'm working remotely for one client exclusively through terminal server.

My problem with Terminal server is that you can't talk to a customer about
what is seen on screen.
You can VNC to the terminal server session, errr, I think.
I don't know if all this is still pertinent to the original topic.Maybe
someone just wanted a way to run VFP apps remotely. TS
