I believe I may have started this thread under a different name because
an update to FF3 made my menu bar very attractive in Windows and not if
linux. However, FF3 is working great for me. I do not use IE on my
Windows computer - my Linux computers either. ;^)

There is no way to downgrade. Here's what find out on my own
1) Export your bookmarks from FF3 into an HTML file
2) Uninstall FF3
3) Install FF2.x
4) Import your booksmarks from the HTML file you created in step 1
5) Install any extensions.
As far as 'settings' the defaults installed with FF2.x
