Haven't tried it myself but there is a save as .DOT in the save options for
schematic.

can't you just save it as a .dot file?
delete the schem and you can edit the primitives
you have to use the drop box for file type and not just stick the .dot
extension on

I have inherited a job in which most of the schematic sheets have a custom
template, but a few new sheets have been added. No one seems to know where
the original template file might be. I'm thinking that I should be able to
export a schematic sheet, delete everything but the template, and save
