Hi Roger,
I echo everybody elses sentiments regarding PDF files - they seem to be
the best thing going at the moment.
If you really truly want or need .BMP files I suggest taking a look at
Peernet BMP Driver - http://www.peernet.com. It is low in cost, about US$60
I think.
It instal
I use a program called Easyscreen from http://www.softdd.com which is a
screen capture program . Just select the screen area you want to capture and
the format to save into , and click. That's all.

For PCB there is also an Add-on server created by Desktop-EDA
http://www.desktop-eda.com.au/products/pcb.htm
The above link will take you to the page for Klipper.
This program will also allow you to create a B&W Logo and import it to PCB
primitives.
I think Protel can sell it to you as well...
Roger,
As the question was asked, the easiest way to convert to a .bmp seems to be
to use Camtastic to view the gerber, and then select Export to .bmp.

A great way is to use your Gerber viewer and print to Adobe PDF format. You
can do this with all your Gerber files and they(customers) can view each
layer using Adobe Acrobat Reader(wich is free to download).
My 2 cents...

We have an electronic design package that using this and it works out very
well. The engineers using Sun workstation can access it as well as have it
email to customers. It takes a little time to play with the printing
parameters but it really is smooth.
