I still use my Digi 003. I used to use a firewire 800 to firewire 400 cable,
but then I bought a firewire to thunderbolt adaptor and it works much better
and is far more reliable now. Definitely worth a look.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the article on surfaces Steve. I'm still using my trusted 003 and am
reluctant to change as it works very well for me. I've held my MacBook pro and
pro tools behind a version or two though as I thought the 003 sadly wouldn't be
compatible moving forward and I didn't hasn't want to
Hi all, could I be added to the what's app group also. Thanks in advance. Alan

Are you using your 003 with PT 12.8? I've noticed its only officially supported
up to 12.7 and was wondering whether to hold off upgrading. Many thanks for
your input.

Hi all. Could I please have a link for the whatsapp group as well? Also, if I
could have access to the Dropbox material that would be fantastic. Cheers to
all.

Hi,
Yes, the Focusrite 6i6 is very accessible and I use it with pro tools. I use it
as a back up to my Digi 003. Its very simple to use. It has a small light
beside the gain knob to alert you do clipping so apparently this is handy if
you have a little vision to be able to spot it, which
not with a software test. Swap

Hi Rocco,
I'm running a 2012 Macbook pro with yosemite and pro tools 12.4. I first
encountered this problem with the same machine whilst on mavericks and it is
indeed the most frustrating and swear inducing problem I've encountered.
Whilst on mavericks, I used to use a Digi 002 when I first

Hi Poppa B,I’ve attached the Digi 003 physical description text file that Slau sent to me when I got my 003 recently. I’m not familiar with the button you’re talking about off the top of my head but everything on the 003 is in here, it’s gold though obviously I’m still learning it.Hope this helps
I think this is an interesting idea, but could it be done over the web instead
of a call? An hour call from Scotland to the U.S. Would soon rack up. Is
something like go to meeting an option?

Don't take this as set in stone, but I think control command F is the command
to maximize safari. I'm not at my desk at the moment so can't try it on PT but
let us know if that works.

Thanks for this Slau, I had a list already but this looks far more
comprehensive and minus the irrelevant for us windows commands.
Also, I got my hands on a Digi 003 so needless to say the layout spec you sent
before has been absolute gold as I learn my way around it.

I for one would certainly be interested in such a series. Regarding a
structure, I like the sound of one hour segments in a series of around ten or
however many it took to cover all bases. An hour is a good length to digest and
replay where necessary. As for price I'm reluctant to say a number
Hear hear. I've said it recently but I wouldn't have passed sound production at
college and be currently making jingles for my local radio station if it wasn't
for this group. We don't recognize thanksgiving in Scotland but there's always
something to be thankful for.
Best wishes to one and
Thanks for recording this Slau, it certainly filled a few holes in my knowledge

I'm not totally sure regarding the whole server issue. I'll need to look into
that in more detail too I think. In the meantime, I've borrowed an m box and a
small USB Behringer surface to get me through the last few weeks of college,
but obviously this is not a long term solution. It did get me
I have also been experiencing this most frustrating error message reasonably
frequently. I have tried connecting my external hard drive via USB instead of
thunderbolt but to no avail. I tried a different hard drive entirely, same
result. If I put the buffering settings up it then tells me to
Fantastic stuff Slau. The jump in accessibility I've noticed from PT nine to
eleven point one is substantial but it's great to know avid aren't resting on
their laurels and more improvements are still to come in the future. I'm sure I
speak for everyone when I say thank you for all the time and
Hi cliff,
I have recently upgraded from pro tools nine to eleven. I use a Digi 002. It
was indeed plug and play with version nine but I had to install the drivers to
get it up and running with PT eleven. Its an easy download from the Avid
website though and you'll be up and running quickly
I think we are all in the same boat here and trying to learn pro tools with
VoiceOver isn't straightforward and can be frustrating at times for all of us.
I read this forum every day and pick up hints and tips and maybe when I'm a bit
more clued up I'll be able to help others too but in the

secret is to pull the cable apart with two hands on either side of the
mechanism.
Hope that helps someone,

Hi all.
Slau, could this be the solution to my query the other day? The retractable USB
numpad sounds perfect, although I'm not entirely sure what is meant by the term

MBP with the numbers on the USB numpad?
let you know as soon as I try the new one.

Hi all.
I was just wondering if anybody has experience of using Amadeus pro alongside
pro tools? If so, I'm curious as to what advantages and disadvantages there are
to each purely from an editing point of view. Is there tasks that are possible
on one that maybe are not on the other? Thanks
I use a Digi 002. I believe they are not available new any more but you'll get
one on ebay for a decent price. As has already been said, I wouldn't dream of
recording or especially mixing a session without it. It simply will make you
work a lot faster and frankly I've found my mixes with it are
