2018-04-11 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hi Peet:
I finally got my Unit to work, it must have firmware update.
but now it’s working as expected.
need to know from yu. when i hit the next nad previous keys to shift the 8
faders to track 9,10 etc. if i reached track1, will it starts from the buttomn?
or if will press previous it will reverse the tracks so, after track 1, it
will shift the unit to let’s say track 20?
thanks so much

control.
don’t know if am doing right or wrong.

Re: Selecting HW mode in presonus fader 8

2018-04-08 Thread Peter Lundblad
Hi,

When I open a session, the faders move to reflect the volums. Also, when
pressing the arrow keys next to the big knob on the right side of the
surface, they move to reflect volumes as the tracks shift.

Things that I would check:
- When you power up the unit, will all faders move to their minimum
positions? They do so for me.
- When adding the faderport in protools, make sure that you set the
following:
+ Protocol: Hui
+ Both send to and receive from set to the faderport
+ # channels set to 8

If you have sighted assistance available, there's a few tests you can run
from the faderport menus to test motors, touch, all the controls etc. The
first one is a test that just runs sliders back and forth to verify that
the motors work.

Hope this is helpful,
//Peter

I installed it, pro tools now can see the Presonus 8, and i can control my

but the question is that, i suspected when i willl open a new session, my
faders will move reflect the volumes that are in the tracks now, but it did not
happen. must i do extra thing in setup or what?

will wait sited assistance to help.
and if you can recall the best things in the menu to adjust, it will be so
helpful

Re: Selecting HW mode in presonus fader 8

2018-04-06 Thread Peter Lundblad
Hi there,

When I set mine up, I had someone help me through the setup menu. However,
the sequence of buttons you need to press is deterministic, so it is
definitely possible to do it without sighted assistance once you learn the
menu structure. I don't remember it (since I only did it once) and the
manual assumes that you can read the little displays, so unless you need to
change the setting often, it might just be easier to have someone help you.
There are a few other settings in the menu system that are useful and might
be worth tinkering with such as fader motor speed and touch sensitivity.
That might make it worth the effort to note down the menu structure for
later.

Best,
//Peter
