Greetings Minu and Welcome to Apache OpenOffice; If you have not already perused it, the QA orientation page is a good place to start. There you will find directions on creating a Bugzilla (our bug tracking system) Account and other information. I also strongly suggest looking at the Level 1 and Level 2 documents on the Orientation page as they give a good overview of how projects at the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) operate and the common infrastructure provided to all projects. We have a webpage with useful information for new volunteers here: http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/intro-qa.html That will answer some common questions and orient you to what we're working on. It will also get you set up with an account on our Bugzilla bug tracking system. You might want to also review some of the other orientation modules linked to from this page, for background about the project, Apache, how we work and make decisions: http://openoffice.apache.org/orientation/index.html Finally, you'll want to add an entry to the table on this wiki page: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/QA+Testing+Preferences Once you've done the above let me know and I can send you some user-submitted bug reports to review and attempt to confirm. We're working on the backlog of user reports right now. But in a couple of weeks we'll also start testing pre-release versions of Apache OpenOffice 4.0. If you have any questions, post a note to the list and I, or another volunteer, will respond. Again, welcome, and thanks for volunteering! -Rob Best Regards Alena -- Alena Furman mailto margo.ch...@gmail.com

Please send me a list of questions and I’ll be happy to answer all of them. Hi Mickey, Most new volunteers introduce themselves informally, usually telling things like: - your preferred name if not obvious from your email address - where you are from - general level of familiarity with using OpenOffice - any prior experience with software testing - any other fun facts you want to share Since this is a mailing list, the posts we make get sent to all other QA volunteers on the project. So this is a good way to introduce yourself to the team. Regards, -Rob Mickey Hanson

Hi Annapoornima, Welcome to Apache OpenOffice community, we appreciate your contribution on QA. Here is orientation[1] you may interested in. Please subscribe qa mailing list. [1] http://incubator.apache.org/openofficeorg/orientation/intro-qa.html 2012/11/20 Annapoornima Koppad a.kop...@gmail.com Hello Everybody, I am writing to volunteer for open office Apache. Couple of things, I love to develop new products, write about trends in technology, and I also identify myself with open source hardware and software groups in India. Heres a link to my linkedin profile: http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=11777415trk=tab_pro. Even though I have little bit of coding skills, I am not very confident about them. So I kind of want to brush my coding skills as well. So I want to start with QA. Look forward to an engaging commitment with open source group here. Warm regards, Annapoornima -- Thanks Best Regards, Yan Ji
