the already sorted case, quicksort is rather better than heapsort, but

Tony,
I have recently obtained this Aurora so your questions are better
aimed at the previous owner who often frequents this list. Sadly,
I appear to be a passenger on this ride but of course am keen to

Boot up off superHermes floppy and investigate win1_boot.
Maybe it is trying to run SMSQ?
It is definitely running SMSQ (though I can't remember which version!) -

There was a bug in SMSQ/E that could cause a hang at this point. I
have fixed it in 3.03, so if you have any earlier version it might be
worth to update.

Marcel, I have the previous version of SMSQ/E at home.
Ok, A small but significant update.
Removal of the RomDisq appears to have solved things, or at
least, moved things forward.
I no longer get stuck on the 'Initialise' screen, The machine

This is exactly what the 'Start Here' series in QL Today was aimed at.

Very quick response... you have the normal HUGE bug. When you split
the
array into a left and right chunk, you MUST stack the LARGER chunk,
and
sort the smaller one. That's why the stack space disappears.
And... be very careful about what happens when you can have
duplicate

Once you have the manual, check that the lead is OK - pinouts are

I need to track down a QUBIDE manual on-line. Once done i
