My fear with using Ghostscript is that although there is a large number of
printer drivers for it already (and more are regularly developed), they
would all need to be converted to run on the QL would they not??

Did it? I thought the PRT device was just a pseudonym device so that you
could output to PRT and it would be configured with PRT_USE to use either
SER or PAR.

font, I think it was either called complete or builtin. Then
intention was to include all allowed characters in that one. Don't think
it ever got that far, but I do think it was a monospaced font.
Is there an easy way of finding out what characters a font supports??

strip colour to system palette), I got an error return so that I know that
the colour drivers are not supported. Guess it should be error -19 that

Where can I find the latest SMSQ/e manual??
I know that extra commands have been added, such as EX_M which is in the
QPC2 version, but does this appear in the Q40 and Gold Card versions yet?

their operating system very often.
We need open discussion on ways to bring all these people back together,
and find ways of programming for all of them, not just one or two select
groups.

Plus, who says that the next game will work on QDOS / Minerva?? Hee hee -
after all, I have not quite got the incentive at the moment to produce a
MODE 4 (or MODE 8) version of the game...

The only problem I have found with QWord is that it smashes whatever
is underneath it when I have run it. This is not a QWord problem
QWord is playing get killed.

But it seems that they truly are as rare as hens teeth.
I have never even seen a THOR, let alone have one for sale.
I do however know where there's a couple of One Per Desks for sale if
anyone is interested

without needing named pipes.
Problem with named pipes is that there are several different variations,
all of which use different syntax so you cannot rely on this for QDOS
systems.

Some people are still having problems getting Aurora to support high
colours - normally a configuration problem on the hardware, but where do
