RE: [qmailadmin] Mailing list Admin Question...

2004-01-29 Thread William Knechtel

Why dont you (for the time being)
just create a subdomain for anyone that has the need
for complete and total access then give them complete control of that subdomain (such
as mylist.domain.com) limit their
email accounts and list accounts and all that other stuff, but then they can
have all the access they need. Thats
how Im doing it for one of my clients that need full access to the list
stuff.

I think then the client would be worried about people creating email addys on that subdomain though.William Knechtel [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

Thats why you use vqadmin to limit
the number of email accounts that can be set up on the domain.

Feel free to email a patch to allow that. :-)

Someone would need to write code to allow a non-postmaster to select
show mailing lists, and then filter the list to only show lists
they're owners of (which requires opening an extra file).

If someone needs it badly, offer to sponsor it. There might be a
developer who could add it for a few hundred dollars...

for user list administration I set up a 'lists' virtualdomain (outside
of vpopmail) and use ezmlm-web
(http://rucus.ru.ac.za/~guy/ezmlm/#ezmlm-web) to allow users to manage
their own mailing lists. It's pretty slick and can take advantage of
most, if not all of the features ezmlm-idx provides.

It may not be as 'gooey' as qmailadmin, but it's certainly quite
powerful.
