0) enable URIDNSBL plugin..It can be done from v310.pre...
1) the supervise script of spamd has a -L option...This needs to be
removed

for enabling network tests...
2) skip_rbl_checks 1 has no effect on URIDNSBL plugin.
3) Since i have enabled DNSBL tests via qmail blacklists, the
skip_rbl_checks can stay as 1.

thats itIt will automatically scan email bodies for spam URLS...These
URLs will be checked against SURBL sites and they will be blocked...

The user and domain quotas are ok, I try removing maildirsize, log

DNSBL are enabled by default
var/qmail/control/blacklist lists the BL consulted.
You can add more BL with the proper syntax: -r bl.test.com
Here is mine:
-r sbl.spamhaus.org -r bl.spamcop.net -r dnsbl.antispam.or.id -r
sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org -r relays.ordb.org -r opm.blitzed.org -r

It sounds like there is a failure much earlier in the script and this is
only a symptom of that failure. Can you look back through your script
output and see if there are any previous failures?

1) the supervise script of spamd has a -L option...This needs to be

Correct, according to the RFC. I tried to tell Sympatico cable that
(200,000 subscribers), but they didn't want to listen. I think AOL may
do this as well. If nothing else, it's a way to keep the average spammer

Roxie,

That wasn;t really meant for you specifically, just a general bit of
info for the list.

WRT what you are doing, AOL gets really pissed off at people who send
much mail if anything does not look right. One of the things they say
NOT to do is to put the IPs of their MX servers into your local cache.
So, if you are going to do so, I would advise putting ALL of them into
there and checking regularly to make sure they are updated, and be sure
you rotate through them every few days if they have any that are
round-robin DNS entries.

I have tried to fight my way off of AOL's blacklist before and it is not
fun. If you have any mailing lists that go to AOL users, you should set
up a loopback address with encoded senders in extra headers.

I can guarantee you will have quota issues!
There is a workaround for this until the better method rolls out in the
next version. You can set CHKUSER_MBXQUOTA=99 in your tcp.smtp for all
the hosts (127. and any others you may have set up) and this will fix
the quota issue. Only needed if you have a problem with this, and are
not deleting the messages on a regular basis. What I do is run a script
(also on my site) that runs sa-learn on the Spam directory, and then
deletes the messages. The main draw-back to this is if a legitimate
email makes it into the Spam box, it will be learned from as spam, and
then deleted at whatever time you run the script. The user may never
know the message was even there if for example you run the script at 1am
and the message comes in at 10pm (assuming the user stops checking their
spam box at 5pm), then it will be deleted at 1am and when they come in
at 8am it will already be gone.
But it works for me like that. I have not had an email make it into the
spam box that was not supposed to be there in a LONG time. The ones that
were I added to my white list in local.cf so they start with a score of
-100 to begin with.

The simcontrol spam blocker (above12) works fine. It was added
recently and works as advertised.

Natalio, you may want to check the header to ensure that spamassassin
is kicking in, and check to ensure that spamassassin is running
(spamd).

2006-07-24 Thread Manny

Hi erik ,

The supposed to be auto delete feature based on simcontrol settings on my
server does not work here is the sample spam header , I have set my
spam_hits=7 hhm any idea ? By the way my existing server setup is that my
smtp server (virus and spam scanner) is separated from my pop server
(webmail/pop and imap service only) all mails coming from my smtp were being
routed to my pop server. do you think my existing setup is the cause why my
spam score higher than 12 were not deleted ?

Thanks ,

Re: [qmailtoaster] CNAME Lookup

2006-07-24 Thread Roxanne Sandesara

All I have is multiple CNAME delays. There is no message explicitly
stating that the mail has been rejected. The error within the headers
of the e-mail says that it simply isn't going to keep trying, that it
has been in the queue too long. I can't find anything like that
phraseology in any of the /var/log/qmail/send files. And I'd rather
not try to post what I have find, as it would take me a good chunk of
time to sanitize the material for open posting. I'll send it to you
individually, if you think that might help you help me, Erik.

[qmailtoaster] New Install (Fedora Core 4)

2006-07-24 Thread Eugene Lee
Hi all,

I am new to qmail and qmail toaster, and walked through the steps provided in the Fedora Core 4 directory. I made it to the end of the install script, but when i went to visit
http://myIPaddress/admin-toaster, it gave me a 404 error.

I have disabled SELinux, so i'm pretty sure that's not the issue. Anybody else run into a similar problem/know how to fix this?

Eugene

It sounds like the lines for including the toaster.conf to your
httpd.conf were not added or are not being used. The aliases,
including the one for admin-toaster, are in there.

Just to be entirely sure, try:
http://your_ip/admin-toaster/
with the ending /

My experience has been that the php_admin_value doesn't always work.
It is why the instructions clearly state that ayou should enable it
after the password has been changed.

RE: [qmailtoaster] toaster-admin password wont change

2006-07-24 Thread Jared Markell
It might be associated the php's register global's being off. In this
tutorial, they say turn register globals on, change the password, then turn
them back off.. and I was never sure why they said to do that.

http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/CentOS_4.3_QmailToaster_Install

Hope this helps

[qmailtoaster] Squirrelmail and IMAP Auth issues since upgrade

2006-07-24 Thread Robert S Galloway

Hi guys,

I've been having significant problems with authentication on my webmail
and my IMAP mailboxes since I upgraded to the current toaster. One time
it works, the next it doesn't. If I go into webmail, I frequently get
past the index.php and get the frames page, but then one of the frames
will tell me that my authentication failed and return to the login page.

I'm running on CentOS 4.3 with all of the current updates, including the
centosplus repo. (except still the supported kernel).

Here is a list of my toaster packages:

qmail-toaster-1.03-1.3.5
qmailadmin-toaster-1.2.9-1.3.1
ripmime-toaster-1.4.0.6-1.3.1
ucspi-tcp-toaster-0.88-1.3.1
control-panel-toaster-0.5-1.3.1
squirrelmail-toaster-1.4.7-1.3.2
vpopmail-toaster-5.4.13-1.3.1
ezmlm-toaster-0.53.324-1.3.1
spamassassin-toaster-3.1.3-1.3.1
libdomainkeys-toaster-0.68-1.3.1
courier-imap-toaster-4.1.1-1.3.2
ezmlm-cgi-toaster-0.53.324-1.3.1
maildrop-toaster-devel-2.0.2-1.3.1
clamav-toaster-0.88.3-1.3.2
daemontools-toaster-0.76-1.3.1
autorespond-toaster-2.0.4-1.3.1
isoqlog-toaster-2.1-1.3.1
qmail-pop3d-toaster-1.03-1.3.5
qmailmrtg-toaster-4.2-1.3.1
simscan-toaster-1.2-1.3.1
courier-authlib-toaster-0.58-1.3.1
maildrop-toaster-2.0.2-1.3.1

I'm running MySQL 5.0.22-1.centos.1.

The IMAP logs just show that login failed. Nothing more than that.
Where else should I be looking for the problem?

Thanks, Robert

P.S. Yes, things worked just fine before the upgrade.

past the index.php and get the frames page, but then one of the frames
will tell me that my authentication failed and return to the login page.

I'm running on CentOS 4.3 with all of the current updates, including the
centosplus repo. (except still the supported kernel).

Here is a list of my toaster packages:

qmail-toaster-1.03-1.3.5
qmailadmin-toaster-1.2.9-1.3.1
ripmime-toaster-1.4.0.6-1.3.1
ucspi-tcp-toaster-0.88-1.3.1

simscan-toaster-1.2-1.3.1
courier-authlib-toaster-0.58-1.3.1
maildrop-toaster-2.0.2-1.3.1

I'm running MySQL 5.0.22-1.centos.1.

The IMAP logs just show that login failed. Nothing more than that.
Where else should I be looking for the problem?

Thanks, Robert

P.S. Yes, things worked just fine before the upgrade.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Squirrelmail and IMAP Auth issues since upgrade

2006-07-24 Thread Erik Espinoza

Oh wait, I see the problem. You are running MySQL 5 and not running
the latest vpopmail from the development site. More than likely MySQL
5 is kicking your authlib off. You can verify by checking the logs.

You have two options:

1)Add wait_timeout = 432000 to the [mysqld] section of your my.cnf
and restart the mysqld service

or

2) Upgrade your vpopmail to the one on my site.

Erik.

Sounds like the MySQL5 problem. Erik has a patched version of
vpopmail-toaster at http://devel.qmailtoaster.com/.

I have small (and old) write-up about this on my site

at. Should help at least get you started in the right direction.
