Hi,
I have recently got OS8.0 for my quadra 800.
However, it has developed an odd habit of rebooting the desktop.
After I have been using it for about five minutes, it starts to get tired,
and if I do anything involving the finder (e.g open a folder), it tries to
do it, then all my icons and

You are using the right 3 fingers, aren't you? Does the power button on
your keyboard work okay otherwise? In my experience command-control-power
key ALWAYS restarted my ADB Macs.
Except a Quadra 800 (and possibly more models, I don't have)!

I have a Performa 640 (with DOS card) and was looking to speed it up and
turn it into a legacy port printing server. I could care less about the DOS

I never figured out why, but non of my 5 Q800's will reboot after
command-control-power!
It will but only when you don't need it to. The Q800 does respond to

My Quadra 700 does not reboot after the three-fingered salute either.
I seem to recall that my old SE would, but it has been years since I

Well, the main problem with the DOS cards from the P640 working on the
PowerMacs is they plug into the '040 socket itself. The x200 and x300
boards don't have '040 sockets, so there'd be nowhere to plug it in :)
How the hell was I supposed to know that - I've never even seen one before ;).

If my Q950 has hung or frozen (like it does so frequently with Netscape), it
won't re-boot with the three-fingered salute, either.
