I've found routine works really well for me. Every day it's 1 cup of home
roasted, coffee, 1 strip of bacon and 2-3 eggs w/ peashoots for breakfast.
Leftovers or scrambled eggs for lunch along w/ an apple or banana almonds
throughout the course of the day. This sustains me well over the 10
I find motivation comes easy after eating well before the ride! Start
the fish (salmon or tilapia) sautee in olive oil with onions portabellos,
start the coffee, flip the fish and add fresh tomatoes and asparagus, prep
the strawberries, blue or blackberries and almonds, then load the plate
I started commuting almost exactly a year ago and thought that figuring out a
good breakfast option would be important... As it turns out I don't like
consuming anything pre ride. Fruit and cereal made me feel sluggish and I
stopped experimenting there. We do eat dinner relatively late
+1 on the Vietnamese Cinammon!!!

As something of an early morning hater, I never eat breakfast -- 24 oz of
caffeine, sugar (refined, white, lots), and milk keep me frantic until I

work in an office (wait: I commuted in a car or on a bike to an

I eat one meal a day, just dinner, which makes morning commutes and rides
pretty easy. If I am going on a long ride I will take some energy bars if I
am feeling hungry but they usually just live in my bike bag for months.
Granted after I eat dinner I am tired on a few levels but its a schedule
Mason jar filled with fruit/yogurt/protein powder/whatever else looks good
smoothy, thermos of coffee and granola bar is what I eat when I get to work
after my 10 mile commute. Lunch is usually microwaved leftovers from
previous dinner.
