And the CK hub found it's way home, please note that this is a 'Pewter'
finish CK Classic Hub and not 'Silver'. It is also no longer laced to the

chain, I shortened it. I do not recall if I shortened it too much and
presume I did as part of my learning curve and so added length back in. No
doubt that is where the error occurred, and if so, what makes 1/8 chain

Wipperman makes 1/8' chains with the same alloys, plating and links as
their 10 speed chains. Izumi 1/8th Keirin chains are made to very high
standards as well.

Once you've got the right length set for the bike, it's easy to cut a new
chain to size. Just hang 'em side by side. The old one (that was the right
length) will be a little longer due to stretch, but you should be able to
figure out where to cut the new chain.
Watch those toes!
I've had several chains break that weren't stretched. I have the Park tool
thingy that checks for stretch. I attributed it to my heavy weight of
250+, and maybe running less oil in the past than i do now. With the low
cost of 9 speed chains i just replace them every 3-4 months now (since i

With all the beautiful scenery, bicycles and people in attendance it felt
like a sacred magical lugged steel ground. There was a lot of love in one
place that night.
Well, I was already sad about missing the event. Imagine how I feel now! ore

BTW, this route has been much improved in the past few years with the widening
of Hwy 12. There is now a nice, wide bike lane along the highway between Napa
and Sonoma.

Just getting back with an update on how things went at Entmoot.
In the end, I left the Hetres on the Sam H. and they performed wonderfully.
I was able to ride the same trails and roads (including some pretty bumpy
single track at China Camp with lots of exposed sharp rocks) as other

I rode C-lines on the singletrack at about 60 lbs. They worked pretty nicely.
I stacked, but more due to the fixed gear, saddlebag, and poor handling skills
