in my experience the array of plastic fenders seem to be more constricting in
clearance and tire size. It seems as if, as evidenced here in this thread, that
aluminum fenders allow you to mount them closer to the frame with a profile
that allows for greater tire size with adequate clearance.

If the ENO is a no go then it seems like you have 3 options:
1) “Magic” gear marching front and rear that gives you perfect chain length
2) Cut out dropouts and get something brazed in that will allow chain
tenisioning.
3) cut out Bottom Bracket shell and get something brazed in that allows
I have found a few things to be true:
- Upright doesn’t have to mean Albatross bars at max height. I’m upright with
my MAP bars which allow my wrists to bend somewhat similarly to hoods.
- Saddles tend to need be differently shaped/positioned to ride in different
postures.
- Geometry of a bike
Should one use thinner spacers if using 10 speeds?

You could always build a nice city wheelset with a fat and fast tire on it.
That way the hunq can stay. You're going to have the same speed issue on the
Atlantis if you keep the same tire and wheel type. 650b wheels be tiresarent
magically better due to the diameter, everything else being equal
