I purchased albatross bars for a bike my son and I are repainting and building
up for him. While waiting for him to select a frame color, I mounted the
albatross bars on my daily commuter

bike in the classroom; at home the dogs and children manage to knock it over

Patrick, I have the small acorn handlebar bag on albatross bars. I like it.
It holds my cellphone, wallet, keys, cable lock, and Fold-up hex wrench set.
In addition, I can also fit one of the follwing: a bandanna or granola bar or
camera (fuji x100). The elastic closure attaches securely

One more observation: the internal wooden brace is too long to snug up the bag
flush with the Albatross bars, because of the bars bend/curve. This also would
create more sway I think if it weren't for the pressure exerted by my stem
shifters. Without the stem shifters I don't think
My concern is the stabalizer bar which extends the width of the bag. The keeps
bag from being snugged up against the bar as it is pictured on dropbars on
Acorn's website.
Your idea of attaching around the stem is intriguing. I may try the bag on
another bike with albatross bars and no stem

Wow, that is a beautiful restoration! I really like the green saddle/bar tape
with the orange frame.
It appears the powder coating did not obscure the lug details any more than a
paint job would have. Is that accurate when looking at the bike in person? I
ask because I am considering powder

I own a new to me Atlantis that was well loved and used. It could really use
fresh paint. Initially, I was going to have it custom painted red with cream
head tube. However, when it arrived I discovered that I really like the
blue/green standard color. It looks much nicer in person than
I wanted to provide an update after all the helpful responses. I installed
the bar end shifters on the Albatross bars, and the set-up has worked
great. The index shifting is both accurate as well as fast. I have no
trouble switching through several gears when I need to. I also focussed on
Pudge, Kelly, and Brian thanks for sharing those. The red, copper and pewter
are great colors. Your photos really help me visualize color options.

Another vote for the large. I can easily fit two 6 packs of bottled beer, plus
tool roll, u-lock, hat, gloves, frame pump, and much else. Today, I carried a
box o joe from Dunkin Donuts to a meeting; I could have fit two in there and

Saturdays, I would accompany my dad on a leisurely bike ride around our town
that included breakfast at a local diner. Seeing your

I have equipped an old Motobecane with a periscopa stem and Albatross bars.
I rode the set-up two days ago for about 15 miles and found it quite
comfortable. I did have to move my hand position forward, toward the stem,
on the Albatross bars, otherwise the handling was a bit twitchy. That is
I am glad the photo was helpful. However, the photo is deceiving as to the
saddle; the saddle is a Brooks B68 which they do not appear to make anymore. I
have a Standard B17 on my commuting bike, and it would not be a good choice for
me on a more upright set-up. The B 68 is fine with the

It was a great ride and my first ride with other RBW folks. Tony, thanks for
organizing and leading us. It was fun comparing our Atlanti. Ken and Howard,
I enjoyed meeting and riding with you both. Seeing a Ramboullait and an
