commuter. It's 48-34-28, with a 12-36 9sp in rear. I love it and use that

I've been lucky enough here in the D.C. area to receive a number of
compliments for my Atlantis while out and about. Notably, many of the
complimenters are gentleman older than I that always wanted a Riv but for

Cables for Campagnolo shifters have a slightly smaller head than those for
Shimano/SRAM, by about 0.1-0.2mm. If you install a Shimano/SRAM cable in a
Campagnolo shifter, you'll have similar problems trying to extract it when

I have a couple of bikes setup with 42/29 chainrings on 94BCD cranks and
either 11-34 or 11-36 cassette. I find 42-11 quite a big enough gear - I
can pedal it up to ~50kph without problem, and 29-34 or 29-36 can get me up
some pretty long steep climbs also without problem.

+1 on Mezcals; I'm running a 2.6 & 2.3 on my Clem and they are shockingly
well-behaved on pavement for a knobby while still being more than adequate
on singletrack. They also offer a tan-wall version if you can't stomach the
gray; both can be found for $30-40 on BikeInn. Vittoria also has an

the crank needs to be moved outwards, because the chainline is now between
the two remaining chainrings rather than being on what was the middle ring

I was in a similar situation: I had a comparably spec'd Giant with bars
that were way too low for me to ride comfortably. I somewhat solved it by
adding a long/tall stem and Bosco bars, but soon after built up my own Clem

I was recently talking with a friend here in the area also looking for a 26.8
set post with more set back for his Roadini.
He decided to have Rivbike order the IRC one for him some have had issues with
because he heard a Rivendell employee recently had tried one and had no issues
because IRC
So what's the lowdown on S-Ride? Are they the manufacturer of the new Riv
7s cassettes? And how does their stuff compare to other budget drivetrain
options like SunRace & Microshift?
