Hi Chris, Your question certainly generated a number of responses.
While the field applied covering I mentioned certainly peeled off and
had the consistency of latex paint, I did _not_ perform an analysis.
There is outdoor latex paint which should have UV inhibitors, so
perhaps it really was latex.
There is not much worse than sea level on a boat. In those cases we keep
everything out of the sun. The few exposed parts need a sacrificial
covering that is easily replaceable. My mountain solar gear up around

Guys and gals.
Though I'm nor a lawyer well-versed in trade law and actions, there is the
possibility of RETROACTIVE tariffs being applied.
In Washington trade parlance this is referred to as finding "critical
circumstances," which allows the government to throw out a retroactive

We normally keep about 6-8 brands/types of PV solar modules in stock. I tried
to purchase from AEE last week but they have a policy that required us to buy
other grid tie BOS components in order to purchase modules. They mentioned the
“tariff shortage” Our work is all battery based systems so I
Have to remember that the module prices may go up but the BOS equipment and
labor will stay roughly the same. So the increase is only on part of the
project cost. The tax credit is on the whole project. Of course being a
SW fan, I just hope SolarWorld can keep up with demand.

I have certainly had better luck in Minnesota. Maybe 10 years. It starts
to look not like new but still serviceable. I know PVC has trouble in the
sun as doe conduit, it gets brittle. I think the jack cannot be removed
after a year or two due to brittleness.

The reports or news I have heard is THAT PRICES will go up for
residential and small commercial projects by at least 10 cents minimum per
watt and maybe even higher wiping out the 30% credit , but not much for
large utilities projects . Paula Mints in her videos predicting analysts is

I am curious as to elevation & reginal effect on the PVC jacketing. At 5000'+
EL in the Rocky Mtns & south west, it has lasted about 2-3 years and then it
starts warping and bending no matter if it is glued, taped or screwed. It is
done for. I have tried white, brown, & black PVC jacketing in 50
Check out Quickmount's QBase-Chem-Link standoffs. We've used them on flat
rolled comp roofs and they seem to work pretty well. Just make sure you
order the right sized diameter.

I am in complete agreement with you that putting inverters on the roof is not
ideal. Not only is servicing and replacement an issue, but there is no do
Not me! The buyer pays for that stuff:)

Wrenchers,
We have a residential system that will sit on a small roof section that
has minimal pitch (5 degrees) and has been roofed with rollout asphalt
roofing. Anyone have good products they recommend for flashing attachment
points? Was going to have it re-done with EPDM. Thanks for any thought
