Ck the current “solar access” laws, I haven’t felt with that in years, but
when we did a lot of residential solar there were laws, at least in
California that prohibited HOA’s from doing that.

That does look like the early Unirac system, (I don't think they rated it for
140 mph). It wasn't designed to hit rafters, that's why there six screws in
each base plate….

We have been using Snap N' Rack for a while, Have lots of installs in Hawaii -
so far no problems, I like the convenience of the design for snapping in the
slider nut in mid rail, and also the ability to install the panels flush with

Are you talking plumbing vent or attic vent? Either can be moved, but we have
simply cut plumbing vents to be under the array where the jurisdiction will
allow. I wouldn't seal a plumbing vent.
Attic vents we lower and sceen to keep critters out but still allow venting.

I don't know your exact application, but I've used Carlon wireways for years.
Our application most of the time was to use the 4x4 gutter in lieu of metal
gutter under the inverters,disconnects, Panelboards, etc.

We sold for Home Depot (actually through HD for Astropower in 2000- 2001 in the
Palm Springs area. It lasted about a year before they started shopping install

amp breaker in a stand up panel blow when energized. Had the electrician been

is the place to start. In
the early days of our installations (mid 1990's) we used power strut and bolted
panels directly to the rails. A lot slower but no gaps between panels. We went
from there to designing our own T clamps. There wasn't as many choices then
for mounting hardware.

When we talked to a manufacturer they wanted us to put supporting lumber on top
of the roof to support the array rather than penetrate the truss with a lag
bolt every 4'. We tried to get them to accept a drill through and a bolt with
a fender washer. We abandoned the project.

We've been successful (at least with PVPowered inverters) in having the AC/DC
disconnects in the inverter recognized as the required lockable disc in some
jurisdictions. The PVPowered on, off, AC, DC switch is lockable. Just
keep it close to the utility meter.
Does any one know wher I can get 14 Kw of Evergreen 200's?

bonding method for the panels, conduit between sub arrays with mineralac clamps
and then the weeb
If your talking about conduit runs between arrays, we've always used minerallac
clamps to attach to either the riser, or the frame, depending on the tilt angle
and accessibility. The inspector has always accepted this as bonding between
arrays.

Nik, we always use 4x4 gutters when ever possible - keeps things clean and neat
- as long as insulation voltage rating is same on all wires and wires are
bundled (AC and DC - tie wraps or tape) and it's all from the same system
(house wiring is another system) then it's OK...

to what works and what doesn't as far as roofing material. The longest lasting
and best insulators were standing seam metal and vinyl covered foam. A white
rooffing material made an incredible difference in
months and the
