Sorry all Should have said it was a mobile...I forgot GE was dumb
enough to give the same designation to different types of radios.
Also the 4 slugs are not only stripped but if like the others on the board
that I did get loose these will be stuck tight. Pointers before I
replace
Usually if the tool wont turn them, then they have already cracked and
will never turn. Usually happens from using the wrong tuning tool or
sometimes they just seize up from old age. Some used paper coil forms
while others were plastic, they both seize up but the paper ones can spin
and rip out
Sometimes on the top part is cracked and you can push/turn them out from
the bottom side up by removing the assembly More often than not they
are not cracked all the way through... And always use plastic proper
fitting tools to turn them, never ceramic...

are very careful you can break up the hex slugs and push them out
that way. I have done that in the past.

Back in the 'earlier days of radio' ... that's the Motorola T44A6A
Receiver for those of you who were around back then and can still
appreciate those days ...
We removed the stuck slugs by using drill bits ... hand inserted
into each slug and carefully reaming out the center. Once

We removed the stuck slugs by using drill bits

into service.
Anyone with spares for sale?
