Hello - and thanks in advnace for your response. I aquired a GE MASTR
III repeater and don't know what band it is on or anything about it.
The model is SXHM01. Serial Number 1619356 Can anyone provide
information as to what band or output power this repeater is. Thanks!

Steven,
The SXHM01 identifies a base station (not a repeater) for 150.8-174 MHz, 110
watts, capable of 4 TX and 4 RX channels.

I have sent our FR-4000 back to ICOM twice to have the final amp replaced
even running reduced power and with extra cooling fans.

Wow, don't like hearing that! Just put one in commercial service for a
customer. Guess you did all the easy stuff like checking the antenna,
duplexer, isolators and things like that? Can you tell us what Icom said
about the failures?

You might want to have a look at the repeaters from Bridgecom.

I'm not a paid ad for these guys. Just my experience that they're great

Easy - use a straight db9 cable to program - requires software and you
will have to re-tune the front end. An extender card would be really nice.
FIRST - be sure the radio is working on 151.505 properly. After

Other than Heliax hardline, RG-214 is undoubtedly the best choice for cable,
but having

I have a question that I would like to throw out to the group.
I have read some items on this, but would like to gather opinions from

This is something that has been brought up to me.
If you had the opportunity to install your repeater antenna on a

Oh come on!
Do you have something against ATT.
If you do - don't do it!
What a stupid question! Is it going to sting you? Do you think it has
some high voltage on it that might tickle you?
Why would you ask such a stupid question? A moron is born every day.

I wouldnt do it if it was a former long lines site (aka owned by american

They make everything a PITA and you also have to get a radio engineer to do
your site design.

They were very good sites. More important is who it belongs to now and how

We have 3 repeaters on one here and many more in the area on former ATT

You didn't provide enough information for a meaningful response. For
example:
1. Is the tower literally abandoned?
2. How much rent will you have to pay?
3. How much liability insurance will you have to carry?
4. Is your power metered, or will you pay a flat rate?
5. Will you
First, you can call me Chris
I know that I have not provided much information at this time, which
is on purpose. I wanted to get opinions on the ATT towers first
before I go into major details.
I will wait just a little longer than I will give all the information
that I can provide you.

Yes we would and DO! There is a ham in the area who also operates a 2 way
radio business that has bought up most of the empty ATT, MCI and Quest
sites in the area (200+ mile radius). He has offered use of his site to us
for free. Just a few simple rules. Stay off the tower unless you are a
