I picked up a used Telewave antenna ANT150F6-2. It has a minor case of the
fiberglass fuzzies and most of the blue paint is gone as it has been in the
elements for 15 years. Should I paint it, apply a cote of resin, or just leave
it alone?

available, and IMHO, the lowest of quality commercial gear, is far superior
to the highest grade amatuer gear. I am sure I will get flack from the
Yaesu, Icom, and Alinco loyalists. Just my opinion. YMMV.

I think that rather than expend a lot of $ on a charger
which can bring it up from 0 volts, I will only use a
maintainer that is plugged in to float it. Following a
deployment, I will take it out hook it up to an external
battery charger.

Hi Jim,
That thing that looks like a fuse (round ceramic cylindrical) is
actually the crystal for the micro in the control head. If you
short it, it really won't work! :-) (thought the same thing got
the T shirt)! haha

Looking at the list below, you can see that the 1/4 and 1/2 Superflex Heliax
have a very modest loss at VHF frequencies. I would use the 1/4 superflex.
