Looks good (on 3.6.3), but I am having trouble customizing it (I just

address to reply to tickets, and his reply is going to the bit bucker rather
than being added to the ticket because RT won't create a new acct for him.
Since this user will be a pretty regular ticket creator, I'd like to

someone could point me to where this was already discussed.

out.

Thanks!

I tried it out, and it does get part of the way.

First off, installation troubles:
I had to modify the test perl script in two ways:
one was to add a use lib /usr/local/request-tracker/lib/ to get it to be
able to find RT.pm.

And then I had to change the tests, since I don't have a general queue.

But, now it is installed.

I merged user1 to user2.

Sending an email from user1 creates the ticket as requested by user2, very
nice.

However, if I login as user1, I don't have any tickets assigned.

What would be nifty is if when logging in as user1 or user2, he would
basically end up in the same place, and see all of the same tickets.

it last, and AT could be made to do it -- I thought -- but I
was already selling 'up-hill' and the loose integration was

* I needed a what happened today view for the boss -- showing

* To work helpdesk with it efficiently, I sort of needed a way

I simply need 2 or three lines Scrip Action Code, perhaps like this:

I've receiving these errors:
Running /var/spool/mqueue/l09MMkDP026633 (sequence 2 of 7)

I've found a temporary (or maybe permanent) workaround by creating a
VirtualHost for localhost that is just HTTP. and using --url
http://localhost/rt/; in my alias file.

I just started testing but haven't seen anything horribly wrong yet. Just
curious if anyone else got this to work differently?

This was my solution (and subsequent fix) when I experienced this problem.

# rt-mailgate requires an http connection for some reason
# probably some conflict between cpan and debian??

# [UPGRADE] libdb4.3 4.3.27-2 - 4.3.29-6

Re: [rt-users] Re: What's new in 3.6.2?

2006-12-20 Thread Jon Daley

On Wed, 20 Dec 2006, Kevin Murphy wrote:

I have 3.6.1, what's new?
What bug fix? What features?

Did you check the changelog? It comes with the tarball...

That's not a practical suggestion. Jesse's release notes are vastly more
helpful for users. I've always thought that the RT download page should have
a release notes link next to each tarball and that the real release notes
should also be included with the source tarball (in addition to the change
log, of course).

And it is disappointing that the release notes were stripped from the mail
archive. Maybe a resend with the text inline would be appropriate?

I think the text was inline, but anyway, here it is.

Features

* finer-grained control of what's displayed on ticket approval from Drew
Taylor

* Kevin Murphy added support for the following config options
** SuppressInlineTextFiles
** DontSearchFileAttachments
* added support for marking RT's HTTP cookie as secure, patch from Pavel
Ruzicka
* Give Freeform form elements an id. This will be useful in combination
with
the EditComponentName callback. With a few local mods, date CFs will be
able
to use the date picker. Without an id the date picker doesn't work.
Thanks

  to Todd Chapman
* Added the ability to search on TimeEstimated
* new method $User-WatchedQueues
* made LoadConfig a lot more vocal about why it can't read your config
files

and offer some hints and warnings about fixing it
* Savable charts
* Switch saved searches management to RT::SavedSearche(s) classes
* Global MyRT configuration interface, allow resetting MyRT
* Refactoring to add a method to just _send_ a MIME::Entity as email
* Allow admins to set custom field values on user create

Fixes

* CullRTAddresses in RT::Interface::Email was using reversed filter logic
* rt-mailgate without --action argument was failing
* fixed balancing of HTML tags, thanks to Erik Peterson
* we now sort chart results before displaying them, thanks to Petter
  Reinholdtsen
* added fix for Search by requestor appearing to break in 3.6.1, also,
  known as 'Requestor.EmailAddress' bug
* correct a hardcoded RT::WebPath in initialdata and upgrade scripts,
the RT homepage no longer explodes if you upgrade from 3.4
* MIME::Entity was dropping non-standard headers
* on ticket creation safe entered dates when validation of custom fields
  fails
* fix a debug message when ticket created with inactive status and
resolved

  date is not set
* Tobias Kremer pointed out a typo in Ticket_Overlay.pm that caused
an error when a user got a certain permission denied message
  [rt3.fsck.com #7852]
* Handle Apache::Session database errors a bit more gracefully
* POSIX::strftime on Solaris isn't robust enough to deal with our Date:
header generation. Switched to Date::Format::strftime instead. As well
fixes incorrect field on systems with not english locale. thanks to Tim
Bishop
* Brian Gallew spotted that we have no tab for Tools - My Day, so it's
fix

  that brings new feature alive
* fixed a problem with setting value of custom fields with category during
  ticket creation [rt3.fsck.com #7903]
* fine tuned [Take] and [Steal] actions according to ACL, so users would
be

able to see this actions only when they have all required rights
* added a workaround for parsing headers from broken MUAs
* applied SelfService cleanup and regularization patches from David
Chandek-Stark
* fixed problems in building queries with conditions based on CFs with
  not-ascii names [rt3.fsck.com #8012]
* fixed [rt3.fsck.com #5248]
* scrip management [rt3.fsck.com #7445]

Performance

* don't run multiple times a quite expensive ACL check in
html/Ticket/Elements/Tabs

* minor improvements in SetOwner method
I18N

* Updated Spanish translation from Carlos Velasco
* Updated Russian translation from Andrew Kornilov
* Updated Polish translation from Arkadiusz Miskiewicz

Callbacks

* FailedLogin and SuccessfulLogin callbacks in the autohandler
* AfterShowHistory and BeforeShowSummary callbacks in Ticket/Display.html
* ModifySearch callback in Elements/ShowSearch
* FormEnd callback in User/Prefs.html

Tests

* new tests for mailgate, query builder, mime headers parsing, emails with
a

  long subject
* Todd Chapman spotted that a missing plan was masking test failures
* test syntax of comps with a mason compiler

Are you emailing the attachment, or uploading it via the GUI? If it
is email, perhaps there is something on that end, or a mime module that
needs to be upgraded or something?

For me, neither the web UI nor the email gateway work for attachments. The
log shows nothing but complaints about using uninitialized values in lots of
components in the 3.6.1-native code. Seeing the earlier responses about
possible bad versions in various supporting libraries, I've updated
*everything* except for Perl itself (which is still 5.8.5) and B::Concise.
According to CPAN, all other possible libraries are up-to-date. I've even
gone so far as to edit and re-run factory to regenerate the searchbuilder
code in lib/RT. All to no avail. Any file which contains a NULL is
truncated at the first null leaving, e.g., PDFs completely useless.

I run debian testing, though when I installed 3.6.1, it wasn't in testing
yet, so I think what I did was using the rt-installer, looked for each
package that it wanted, and installed the debian version of it. And then
for anything that wasn't in debian, used cpan to install it. I do have a
fair bit of stuff in /usr/local/share/perl, which I think is mostly from
RT, though I was playing around with webgui at one point. I do use 5.8.8.

Now that 3.6.1 is in testing, I did check the requirements there to make
sure I have all the latest versions that it wants, even though I am still
running the downloaded source version of RT.

Probably a bit hacked up, at least for someone who doesn't run almost
anything if it doesn't come as a debian package.

PS. Hi Brian - haven't talked to you in a while - I just quoted you to
someone the other day about not knowing that Joe Swenson was the CEO of

Re: [rt-users] Apache SSL for RT 3.6.1

2006-11-10 Thread Jon Daley
You don't want anything else running on port 443? That should be
simple then. You don't need any rewriting or forwarding at all. Take out
RT, and get apache to respond to some hello world text file on port 443.
Once you get that working, then put RT back in.

Subject: Re: [rt-users] RT 3.6.1 https issue

I was running RT on port 80 and https proxy on port 443. Also i had one
redirect rule for clients with IP address other than server one.

VirtualHost *:80
...
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REMOTE_ADDR} !IP_SERVER
  RewriteRule ^/(.*) https://rt_site/$1 [L]
...
/VirtualHost
VirtualHost *:443
...
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://rt_site/$1 [L,P]
Proxy http://rt_site/
  Order Allow,Deny
  Allow from all
/Proxy
...
/VirtualHost

Not so simple, but only one going https with original sources :) I have other
solution now, see this patch of lib/RT/Interface/Web.pm:

---cut---
196c196
 $uri-port($ENV{'SERVER_PORT'});
---

#$uri-port($ENV{'SERVER_PORT'});

---cut---

Conclusion: Actual server port is other than $ENV{'SERVER_PORT'}, at least with
mod_perl2 and few Apache virtual servers. Because of that it's not a good idea
to use it, especially for URL construction. It's used for cookie name too but
probably this is not a big problem.

stuff, your RT part is probably working fine.

Re: [rt-users] Problem with schema.mysql 3.4

Then I am upgrading my old 3.4.1 database.
I type /opt/rt3/sbin/rt-setup-database --action schema \

  --datadir etc/upgrade/version
  /opt/rt3/sbin/rt-setup-database --action insert \
   --datadir etc/upgrade/version
Replacint version to 3.5.

But this message appears:

Can't locate mysql schema.
And folder etc/upgrade/3.5x is empty.

I think that is fine. It just means there weren't any changes. I
think the 3.6.1 folder only has one of those files as well.

Ah, it is an https (in some library, not with my certs AFAIK)
problem. If I move the server to plain http it is fine.

Is there an easy way to delete the latest revision or does the article

I always just click:
revisions (defaults to second newest revision)
then edit
then save

This will remove the last edit. Sometimes the spammers are smarter than
that, and edit a couple revisions, so you need to check the diffs.
