Hi guys,
I have been putting down some of my (admittedly random) thoughts on how to
get the best possible emulation experience and I have weeded out some of the
best at
http://www.koriel.net/EmulatorIdea.htm
I would really appreciate it if some of you would deign to look at the page
and even
I like your idea. I had a couple of thoughts
The main processor is a 400MHz+ XScale CPU running embbedded Windows CE.
This allows many emulator writers to take advantage of their current skills in
Win32 development systems.
This CPU would also be powerful enough to emulate most, if not all,
I think you should discuss it off the list. It has nothing to do with Sam
Coupe. (And surely there is a usenet group usable for this discussion.)
And, I personally don't like the idea of creating a new hardware nonsense to
emulate something you can either emulate on a standard computer (PC), or

How would this compare, roughly, to an x86 processor in terms
of processing power?
The 400MHz XScale is exactly what's in my iPAQ 2210, which already
I think you should discuss it off the list. It has nothing to do with Sam

Not 100% true, if the box was used to run SimCoupe. Not as nice as
actually having the real thing though (and they are not too expensive
on Ebay). It might be a more robust way of taking your Sam to a show
if you
I take you also think that games consoles don't have a place, after all they
only emulate what is already available in the arcade.
This idea behind this was to allow us the fond memories of lying on our
stomachs in front of the TV playing those old favourites, as for buying a
new version of (for
A game console doesn't emulate anything. It's a commercial product on its
own.
There are other news groups devoted to emulation and hardware emulation, and
this discussion will DEFINITELY craete a huge amount of discussion not
connected in any way to Sam Coupe.
But Sim Coupe itself is a Sam
Have you not seen this then?

MESS is a free emulator which emulates a large variety of different systems.
As of the latest CVS version, it supports the following:
Adventurevision
Alfa
Amstrad 464plus
Amstrad 6128plus
Amstrad
Yes, I've seen it (and
run it) and admit mine is a similar idea, just packaged up in a portable
hardware format that I could use in my living room :). I don't see any reason
why the system itself couldn't be based on MESS, just loading modules on demand
from SD Card.

Really?
My Xbox struggles to emulate an A500 ;-)

(Sorry, off-topic again, I'll save any discussion for SimCoupe from
here on.)
