Its been about 5 seconds since Buffy ended its last season (ok like 6
years). Though that is a long time in the information age, I just dont see
this taking off without the blessing of the Buffy god. Ill be waiting for
DVD to see how bad this will be.

Now they'll probably flock to the movie's banner, which makes about as much
sense.
I understand that they're moving toward making this remake grim and gritty.
That's what Whedon's comic-book continuation has been from Panel One. Why not
run with that? Off the top of my head, they could go with

I do, Mr Worf, though I think it was a Next Gen ep. There was a brother and
sister team of scientists studying the phenomenon at length, the sister
vociferously anti-warp drive. She ended up proving her point by testing her
theory with her own ship, killing heerself.

Keith, I read this story just before I crashed last night, and was planning to
post it here this morning.
IMO, *any* drive of this sort should be tested/operated well beyond any
planetary body, for maximum safety.

I get the same problems as Keith, and I'm in the eastern metro part of Atlanta.
Those are the problems I can accept with Comcrap service. It's the loss of
volume on some channels, loss of signal on others (in my case, *lots* of
others) that draws the brunt of my complaints.

Yeah, it was a TNG, and frankly, a kinda stupid show (in my opinion). It was a
kind of ecologically-friendly show, a parable for our waste of energy and
resources here on Earth, our need to learn to live within limits. But a show
limiting warp drive speed through the galaxy kind of puts the
True. i was just tripping on the black hole thing being displayed so
prominently. And given that even the drive they think *could* work--the string

be worrying bout this anytime soon...

And I have a weird problem where there's an *obvious* lag in people's lips

I've noticed it on the local ABC affiliate as well...

And, speaking of PBS, are you getting anything off PBS 30 other than an

This is why some people have problems with the super collider in Texas.
There is also a fusion reactor that was built in France that has been online

Another thing that bugs me is the contrasting volume levels in some
commercials where a commercial will be at a normal volume then the next is

1. Buffy has already HAD a movie. The series was based on the

That's an intentional thing many networks do in order to foist advertisements

aren't actually louder, in terms of volume, but supposedly simply have a

I think that you are referring to amplitude. The commercials may have had
the audio compressed and level boosted at a much higher level than others. I
believe a limiter could correct this in the main studio before it is sent

Technically we're both right. The commercials boost the softer sounds--sounds
at parts of the spectrum TV commercials don't--to higher levels (amplitude)
than in regular TV programs. So, there are more parts of the audio spectrum in
a commercial that are at a consistently higher amplitude than

Yes, I think it was more so STNG. The warp drive is a mirror to what pollution
