With Max, Maya and ?Flame? having this integrated, is there a chance

Personally I would love to have these tools for texturing inside Softimage.

if a specific named point cloud exists, if so then freeze and apply point
cache, or delete and apply point cache?

You can use the Parent Objects command and assign it to a key in your
keyboard layout. I think it isn't asigned by default.
You could create a button for this command if you don't want to change your
keyboard.

I've got a tearing lagoa cloth sim that I'm fairly happy with, and am
meshing it with empolygonizer3, but getting some extreme stretched

I think for Soft its different, as 6 versions back takes it into Avid territory
and am not sure how that stands, etc. Though Soft 7.5 was post acquisition so
not sure about that particular version?
