Do they know you have the new 8.x version?
I doubt it. They never even officially released anything beyond 7.7.6.
Even the 7.9 package they had was beta only.

Well ..I've just realised that I had put the original
CLI/Plugin.pm back to test this and it's still working. So I don't need
a patch. It's just a matter of using the right combination of
filterHosts, --httpaddr and --cliaddr.
If you enable the "What was that song?" plugin then LMS will keep a
record for you of which songs were played ... so you might then find
that the last one listed is the one causing the problem.

That clears up my confusion. I now need to update PlayWMA as it is
still "current" whereas it looked obsolete once players had WMA
built-in.

Michael,
I am now up and running with LMS and would like to explain how this was
achieved given that my user files (including my main music file) for my
personal log on are on a permanently connected external 1TB T7 SSD.
I always had a spare administrator account on the internal Macintosh SSD
I just downloaded that zip file - and the checksum matches what the
LocalPlayer plugin expects.
So I think that this particular report from MalwareBytes can be
disregarded.
The challenge for you now is to work out how to tell it to ignore this
issue.

LocalPlayer tries to download libmpg123
Code:

That wasn't really what I was thinking of doing - but it shows the
problem.
You have the LocalPlayer plugin installed and it uses Squeezelite and it
uses libmpg123 which Malwarebytes thinks is a problem.
So ... for now - you could remove the LocalPlayer plugin.

There is a genuine mpg123.exe - and it may well be installed by one of
the plugins that you have (I don't think LMS installs it itself).
The implication is that it has a "call home" feature.
You should be able to find it in the LMS plugins directory.
The name of the directory should be enough
