Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMServer needing reboot
It sure points to some network problems if players disconnects , that basically never happens . I'd the network cards sleeps that's suspicious and/or if the OS goes to sleep . Sleeping OS is fixed by using the WOL "wake on LAN" features if our network card ,check that setting to , so that the network can wake the server . DHCP problems on your network ? Do the server machine change IP all the time ? It should work I know . I removed that variable by having all squeezestuff with static IP ( next best aproach is to reserve IP in the router , but it still involves DHCP ) Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Logitech Media server 7.8 scanning problems.
Unfortunately the question "has it ever worked?" has not been answered yet. Can you work on the NAS command line? I'd start by deleting the library.db. Check where the cache folder is located in Settings/Information. Then restart LMS. If the file itself was corrupted this would sort it out. Then make sure your file system has enough free disk space. Once you've figured out the cache folder's location run "df -h" and compare whether the cache folder is on a partition with plenty of disk space. Check the cache folder: are there huge files you might want to remove, eg. all the *.db files? You can safely delete them, they would be rebuilt upon next start. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9 quick search broken?
I have two players connected. DEPRECATED warnings are not correlated. They are appearing exactly 4 times a day, at 5:00 AM which is my set rescan time. Could you please provide the scanner.log as well? I don't care about preference pane, and suppose anyone who stays at OSX/PPC does not care, too. Would it be hard to keep PPC compatibility with just command line interface? But how do you currently start/stop LMS without it? It can easily be done, but you need to know how to do it: /Library/PreferencePanes/Squeezebox.prefPane/Contents/Resources/start-server.sh stop-server.sh would be the stopping version obviously. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I suspect this is not going to help too much - i put Tidal logging at 'Debug' level .. tried to open couple of Playlists (in the left hand side in the browser). Some loaded completely and some barely (like 10% of the tracks). Log does not change/show anything new when clicking on any playlists. Only information that does show up is when i actually play (either whatever has loaded from the playlist ) and that you will see at the very bottom. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Logitech Media server 7.8 scanning problems.
I'd suggest that after the initial scan the db file becomes locked for some reason - hence it can't be opened on the second scan - but you really need Michael Herger to cast his eye over the log file to tell you what is going on. Trust me though that running LMS on something different and pointing it at your NAS will work and is the way forward as more or more NAS become incapable of running LMS without significant (and in some cases risky) modifications. The scanning is also infinitely quicker and transcoding is more stable/reliable with something that has a decent processor. *Vortexbox LMS 7.9 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106261 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I took a slight different approach and made a new folder and copied 10 cd's into it. Pointed the LMS to the new folder and it scanned the albums without any problem. I created a new LMS Server on a W& machine, and moved a couple of players over to it. All Ok on going to bed. In the morning, the WHS LMS was missing players again, yet W7 players were OK. I moved the "unconnected" WHS players to My Squeezebox.com then to W7 - all seemed OK. I will work on this some more tonight.. I have not had a chance to review the Server Log - which might reveal what's happening. But the above would tend to rule out the Router - as it is common to both machines. ref Above: - I think I found the Power check box you referred to. See attached. It was ticked, not unticked. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Password-protected podcasts
Answering my own question... if the RSS feed and enclosed audio feeds support HTTP AUTH then you can use, for example, in the Podcasts plugin page to add a new feed: Code: https://user:passw...@url.com/feed Not sure if this will work if only the feed or only the streams require the authentication. Interestingly, if your username is your e-mail address then this seems to work, despite the ambiguity with the 'at' symbols (in some tools, you'd need to encode the first '@' as %40 - i.e. user%40domain.com:password@...): Code: https://u...@domain.com:passw...@url.com/feed mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106263 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

If you want to persevere with the Thecus then I would troubleshoot as follows Remove all music files. Add them back in blocks of 10 CDs to start with and rescan. If LMS borks on the first 10 then it sounds like your db is screwed but delete them and try a different 10 to be sure. If it accepts and scans any OK then you probably do have a corrupted music file or two somewhere.
